Catalina Escobar has dedicated her career to creating opportunities for women and families across Colombia. As the President of IWF Colombia, she continues to advance women’s economic empowerment and gender equity globally.
 
In 2001, Catalina founded the Juanfe Foundation to break the cycles of poverty and adolescent pregnancy in Colombia. Since then, the foundation has reached more than 300,000 people through education, health care, and economic empowerment.
 
A globally recognized social entrepreneur, Catalina has been named an IWF Women Who Make a Difference, a CNN Hero, received Colombia’s National Merit Order Award, and was recognized by the World Economic Forum and Schwab Foundation as Outstanding Social Entrepreneur of the Year.
