The GIWA Committee honours Marinella, a true icon whose voice, presence, and artistry have left an unforgettable mark on Greek culture.

Her legacy will continue to inspire generations, and her music will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Ζήτω η ελευθερία. Ζήτω η Ελλάδα μας.

Με σεβασμό και θαυμασμό θυμόμαστε όλους εκείνους τους θαρραλέους ανθρώπους που αγωνίστηκαν για εμάς.

Αναμεσα τους γυναίκες πολλες.

Γυναικες που τόλμησαν οταν ηταν σχεδον αδυνατον.
Που ύψωσαν φωνή όταν δεν τους επιτρεπόταν.
Που διεκδίκησαν χώρο, δικαίωμα, ύπαρξη.

Η ελευθερία δεν χαρίστηκε, κατακτήθηκε.
Και συνεχίζει να κατακτάται, κάθε μέρα,
μέσα από μικρές και μεγάλες πράξεις.

Σήμερα δεν γιορτάζουμε μόνο το παρελθόν,
αλλά τη δύναμη που κουβαλάμε μέσα μας.
