GRACE - connecting communities, changing lives Supporting individuals and families in vulnerable situations with clothing and the basic living essentials they need. Registered charity no: 1169544.

Supporting individuals and families with clothing and everyday living essentials they need. Set up on 30 October 2015, to respond to the growing refugee crisis, to send aid to those in need along the migration route. We send clothing donations and essential supplies to (but not limited to) France, Greece and Syria. We also support similar groups and charities with their projects in the UK and beyo

nd. We are a strong and motivated team from the local community with representation from all walks of life. We have run larger-scale collection and packing events from local community buildings (such as schools and the Town Hall) as well as helping other local groups to fulfil their projects in between. We continue to help local refugees and people facing destitution by supporting local charities and community services through links with Citizens UK, AFRIL, Lewisham Brighter Beginnings, Anti-Human Trafficking, Homestart, FoodBank. Our address: 332 Lee High Road. Shop opening times Monday-Friday 9:00am-3pm
Saturday- 10am-2pm


Please check with us before dropping off donations. We are networked with other aid groups. We are further developing links with local charities and larger organisations so that no donation goes to waste. We organise and take part in community events to fund our projects and create awareness to our work. Whilst we welcome free speech, derogatory remarks regarding the issue will be removed as we are here to help and not judge.

GRACE is indebted to the 9th Lewisham North cubs and scouts for the kind donation of toiletries. The cubs and scouts were working towards their World Challenge Badge and a volunteer from GRACE gave a presentation to each group about the work our charity does in the local community. Our volunteer also organised for every cub and scout to make their own plaited leather woggle.

The groups raised money for GRACE at their AGM. This included a bake sale, a guess the teddy’s name, where people paid £1 to guess the name of the big teddy and if they got it right, they won the bear, and lastly, a pirate map where they had to guess the right square for the buried treasure. Over £130 was raised and David, the scout leader delivered toiletries to the shop on Saturday morning. We would also like to thank Julie, leader of the cubs, for her support.

It was a pleasure to present to and collaborate with members of 9th Lewisham North cubs and scouts.

Can our community help?

Months after Hurricane Melissa, some families and community organisations in Jamaica are still dealing with the effects of flooding, damp and property damage.

We have been asked whether we can help source approximately 3-4 dehumidifiers to support ongoing recovery efforts.

The poster below shows the types and approximate sizes being requested. These measurements are for guidance only.

If you have a clean, working dehumidifier that you no longer need and it meets the criteria shown, please get in touch with us before dropping it off.
