We had a fantastic afternoon last Saturday, celebrating McHappy Day with our families by hosting a disco party!

Families entered our House through a huge balloon arch and were treated to yummy cakes, popcorn and of course dozens of happy meals provided by the Waterloo McDonald’s team.

Throughout the afternoon they enjoyed dancing to the disco music, playing games like pass the parcel and jumping for joy in our bouncy castle.

On McHappy Day, £1 from every qualifying main meal was donated to Ronald McDonald House UK, helping support families when they need it most.

One of our little guests summed it up perfectly, “I had so much fun today, Daddy! I wish every day was McHappy Day”

Don't forget, McHappy Day is nearly here! 🎉

As we count down to 26 September, we're looking back on some of the special moments shared by families staying at Evelina London House.

From parties and crafts to games, music and Happy Meals generously provided by our local McDonald's teams, these events give families the chance to step away from the hospital environment, spend time together and make happy memories during a challenging time.

Creating moments like these is an important part of what we do, and with your support, we can continue to bring families together both now and in the future.

This McHappy Day, £1 from every qualifying main meal purchased at McDonald's will be donated to Ronald McDonald House UK, helping families stay close to their child while they receive hospital treatment.

Families like baby Grayson's.

Grayson was born early at 33 weeks and needed immediate surgery and specialized care. For nearly a month while Grayson was in the NICU, his parents, Paige and Jordan, stayed just steps away at Ronald McDonald House Louisville

"Being at Ronald McDonald House allowed us to be with Grayson in the NICU as much as possible," Paige says. "It was the biggest blessing to us on our journey."

Jeremy, Jessica, and their three children stayed at Ronald McDonald House Atlanta for over 60 nights while their son participated in a feeding therapy program nearby.

Once a Ronald McDonald House Family, always a Ronald McDonald House Family. ❤️

While Harlow and Hadley were in the NICU, the Rardon family found comfort and support at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mid-Missouri. Now, the twins have made it a tradition to give back by volunteering at the House each year, even spending part of their birthday this year packing lunches and preparing a meal for families staying at the House.

Today is National Eat Outside Day! ☀️

At our Evelina House, families can borrow one of our picnic baskets, put together by our Family Services Assistant (and champion gardener!), Ana, and enjoy a meal in the beautiful gardens surrounding the House.

These outdoor spaces are lovingly maintained through our long-standing partnership with the American Women's Club of London , whose members have supported our families for more than 25 years through volunteering, donations and fundraising.

A huge 'thank you' to the AWC for helping create such a welcoming space for families to relax, enjoy some fresh air and spend time together. 💙

Everyone was soaking up the sunshine at our annual summer party for current and former families of Evelina London House! ☀️

It was a wonderful afternoon filled with arts and crafts, party games, and plenty of smiles. Children enjoyed everything from pass the parcel and bean bag toss to some friendly table tennis matches. And of course, no summer party would be complete without a colourful piñata smash beneath our giant balloon arch! 🎈

A huge thank you to the fantastic volunteers from McDonald's Waterloo, who generously gave their time to run a face-painting station and brought Happy Meals for all the children. We were also treated to delicious cakes and bakes lovingly made by former family member, Hazel. 🧁

Events like these simply wouldn't be possible without the ongoing support of our incredible volunteers, who help create special memories for our families year after year.

We have crossed the 79-mile finish line! 🎉

Throughout the month, our team walked, ran and cycled their way through the 79 Mile Mission, raising vital funds to help Ronald McDonald House UK provide free, comfortable accommodation for families when they need it most.

As promised, our House Manager Richard completed the challenge in style by cycling an incredible 68 miles from Brighton to Evelina London House. Despite a few unexpected challenges along the way, including losing his sat nav and running out of phone battery halfway through the journey, he successfully made it to the House, where he was greeted with cheers and a very warm welcome! 👏

When the Roy family’s daughter, Carly, was in the NICU, her family stayed at Ronald McDonald House South Central Ontario, surrounded by a community of support while their daughter was receiving medical treatment.

We're taking on the 79 Mile Mission this July! 🚴‍♂️🚶‍♀️

For families with a seriously ill child in the UK, 79 miles is the average distance between their front door and a hospital providing specialist care.

To recognise this journey and raise funds for families staying at Evelina London House, our team is taking on the 79 Mile Mission this July.

Our House Manager, Richard, will cycle an impressive 65 miles from Brighton to Evelina London House, while the rest of the team will clock up the remaining miles by cycling and walking along the Thames.

As many of you know, every pound we raise helps our charity continue to provide support for families while their child receives treatment.
