ECHO also offers a closed members only parent s

Today, Andrew, Mia and volunteers Kim & Maisie had a fantastic time working alongside the Evelina Play Team to deliver a fun-filled session in the Atrium at the Evelina, supporting children and families in the hospital today.

Playing games, getting creative with origami animals, and spending time together, enjoying some much-needed fun - it was wonderful to bring a little extra joy to families’ day.

We love ECHO’s school holiday programme and over the years, we have focused it on all children in hospital because the Atrium is an amazing space for inclusivity. No matter what condition the child is in hospital for - we work alongside the Evelina Play Team to bring some smiles.

John and the BMX LIFE team are not only incredible representatives of BMX, but this weekend at the UK’s largest Mountain Bike Festival and Trade Show, they’re also helping raise awareness of ECHO.

With around 10,000 people attending each day and more than 130 trade stands, the Malverns Classic is a huge celebration of the cycling community.

We’re so proud of our partnership with BMX LIFE and the work they’re doing to raise awareness of ECHO.

We can’t wait to hear all about the festival!

After months of hard work, revision, exams and probably a fair few stressful moments, today is finally here!

Over the years, we've heard families describe ECHO in many different ways.
A support network.
A safe space.
A source of reassurance.
But one phrase comes up time and time again:
"ECHO feels like a second family."
When families are navigating diagnoses, hospital stays, treatment plans and life's many milestones, having people around you who truly understand can make all the difference.
For over 40 years, ECHO has been bringing together children, young people, families and professionals to create a community built on support, understanding and shared experience.

A heart condition can feel incredibly isolating.
Many families tell us they have never met another person going through a similar experience until they connect with ECHO.
That's why community matters.
Through family events, support groups, learning sessions, sibling activities and opportunities to connect with others who understand, ECHO helps bring people together.
Because sometimes the most powerful words you can hear are:
"We've been through that too."

If you have a disability or long-term health condition, you can now apply for a place in the 2027 TCS London Marathon!

This is the same London Marathon in April 2027, but with a separate ballot specifically for people with disabilities and long-term health conditions. Both General Disability and Assisted Wheelchair entries are available, with places allocated via a random ballot.

Importantly, supporting evidence can include a Blue Badge, DLA letter or PIP letter, so if you have a disability or long-term health condition, we’d encourage you to check the eligibility criteria and apply.

Applications close just before midnight on Monday 24 August 2026.

ECHO know just how special this opportunity can be. Last year, two of our ECHO runners living with congenital heart disease (CHD) took on the challenge and became London Marathon finishers! Their incredible achievement showed that anything is possible when you have the determination to take on the challenge.

If you’re successful in the ballot and would like to run for ECHO, we’d absolutely love to hear from you! We can support you throughout your training journey and on the day itself, helping you feel part of Team ECHO every step of the way.

Your miles could help us support children and young people living with heart conditions, making a real difference to their lives and the lives of their families.

At 7pm tonight, ECHO’s will be sharing a light to remember children who have gone too soon.

As we remember these precious children, we also hold in our thoughts the parents, carers, siblings and families who continue to live with the loss of a child following a death from CHD.

CHD is not rare — around 1 in 100 babies are born with congenital heart disease.

What is rare is the loss of a child. When a child dies, the impact on their family is immeasurable, and their child will never be forgotten.

Tonight, we remember the children too — their lives, their smiles, their memories and the love they brought to their families. Their stories matter, and their families will always be part of the ECHO’s community.

We remember the staff around them.

We also want to say a heartfelt thank you to all our amazing supporters. Your kindness and generosity help us to support families throughout their CHD journey, including those facing the unimaginable loss of a child.

Tonight, we light a candle for every child gone too soon, and for every parent, carer and sibling carrying their memory.

Today’s heatwave reminds us why the ECHO Regular Tea Trolley is so much more than a tea trolley.

With London experiencing extreme heat and concerns being raised from the RCN about the impact of these conditions on healthcare staff.

ECHO Team Trolley adapts, refreshes and keeps showing up.

A cup of tea, a cold drink and a few minutes to pause might sound simple - but that moment of connection can provide much needed psychological first aid for parents, carers and the staff supporting them.

Today, the trolley is bringing COLD refreshments, connection and a little bit of kindness into a very hot working day to patients, parents and the people looking after them.

Because looking after people also means looking after the people who care for them.
