One of the Sudanese communities, in 2021, the Eastern Sudan Community Association (ESCA) established itself as a charitable organisation and registered as a non-profit limited company under No. 13207623. The Charity Commission officially accredited it under No. 1208905 in July 2024. It focusses on
serving the Eastern Sudanese community in the United Kingdom. The association's objectives revolve around promoting social inclusion, preserving cultural heritage, promoting ethnic harmony, facilitating educational initiatives, and its contribution to a multicultural society. Our Mission:

By implementing these strategies and activities, the association strives to create an inclusive environment in which its community in the UK can flourish and preserve its cultural heritage while fully participating in and contributing to the wider community.
1. Promoting social integration:
I. Community Outreach Programs: Conduct outreach activities to reach out to socially excluded individuals and families, helping them understand their rights and access available resources. Partnerships with service providers: Establishing relationships with local service providers, such as healthcare, education, and social services, to ensure they understand and meet the specific needs of the Eastern Sudanese community.
2. Culture and Education:
I. Arabic language lessons: Teach youngsters of the eastern Sudanese community Arabic language courses beyond school and college hours to guarantee its preservation among young people and to close any gaps between generations. Language and Heritage Lessons: It provides courses and seminars covering the Beja languages as well as the history and legacy of eastern Sudan with all its many cultures. These initiatives aim at adults as well as children to guarantee the passing on of cultural knowledge across generations. III. Participation in documentation projects: Involves documenting and preserving the language, traditions, and culture. The narratives of the eastern Sudanese community are presented in cooperation with academic and cultural institutions.
3. Community participation and empowerment:
I. Educational and training programs: To improve the employability and self-sufficiency of community members by means of educational resources, vocational training, and skill development initiatives. Social and recreational events: combining local residents with the larger population will help to strengthen social bonds, cultural interaction, and mutual understanding. Leadership Development: Increase their ability to speak for and support their communities, they can help potential community leaders. IV. Educational development: Developing a Strategy Plan to Enhance Employment Conditions and Study Opportunities for the Eastern Sudanese Community at British Institutions.
4: Counselling and support services:
I. Advice and Information Services: Providing tailored advice and information on issues such as immigration, housing, employment, and health care, and helping community members navigate complex systems. Support groups: facilitating support groups for various segments of the local community, including women, the elderly, and people with disabilities, and providing a safe space to exchange experiences and receive support. Counselling and Mental Health Services: Providing access to counselling and mental health services to address the unique challenges faced by refugees and immigrants, including trauma and cultural adjustment.
5: Partnerships and Collaborations:
• Collaborative Cultural Projects: Working with cultural groups and organisations to promote cultural diversity. Discussions and projects that celebrate diversity and foster a sense of community among different ethnic groups are essential.

أولا: تعزيز الإدماج الاجتماعي
a. برامج التوعية المجتمعية: القيام بأنشطة توعية للتواصل مع الأفراد والأسر المستبعدين اجتماعياً، ومساعدتهم على فهم حقوقهم والوصول إلى الموارد المتاحة. b. الشراكات مع مقدمي الخدمات: إقامة علاقات مع مقدمي الخدمات المحليين، مثل الرعاية الصحية والتعليم والخدمات الاجتماعية، لضمان فهمهم للاحتياجات المحددة لمجتمع شرق السودان وتلبيتها.
ثانياً: الثقافة والتعليم
a. دروس اللغة العربية: ما بعد دوام المدارس والكليات تقديم دروس حول اللغة العربية لأطفال مجتمع شرق السودان لضمان المحافظة عليها بين الأطفال ولسد أي فجوات بين الأجيال. b. دروس اللغة والتراث: تقدم دروسًا وورش عمل لتعليم لغات البجا، وكذلك تاريخ وتراث شرق السودان بكل ثقافاته المتنوعة. تستهدف هذه البرامج الكبار والأطفال على حد سواء لضمان الحفاظ على المعرفة الثقافية عبر الأجيال. c. مشاريع التوثيق: المشاركة في مشاريع توثق وتحفظ اللغة والتقاليد والروايات التاريخية لمجتمع شرق السودان، بالتعاون مع المؤسسات الأكاديمية والثقافية.
ثالثاً: المشاركة المجتمعية والتمكين
a. البرامج التعليمية والتدريبية: توفير الموارد التعليمية والتدريب المهني وبرامج تنمية المهارات لتعزيز قابلية أفراد المجتمع للتوظيف والاكتفاء الذاتي. b. الأحداث الاجتماعية والترفيهية: تنظيم فعاليات تجمع بين أفراد المجتمع والسكان المحليين الأوسع نطاقا لتعزيز الروابط الاجتماعية والتبادل الثقافي والتفاهم المتبادل. c. تطوير القيادة: تحديد ودعم قادة المجتمع المحتملين من خلال برامج التدريب التي تبني قدراتهم على الدفاع عن مجتمعاتهم ودعمها. d. التنمية التعليمية: عمل خطة إستراتيجية تهدف إلى تطوير ظروف العمل للأفضل بين الأعضاء وفرص الدراسة بالجامعات البريطانية لمجتمع شرق السودان.
رابعاً: خدمات المشورة والدعم
a. خدمات المشورة والمعلومات: تقديم نصائح ومعلومات مصممة خصيصًا حول قضايا مثل الهجرة والإسكان والتوظيف والرعاية الصحية، ومساعدة أفراد المجتمع على التنقل في الأنظمة المعقدة. b. مجموعات الدعم: تيسير مجموعات الدعم لمختلف شرائح المجتمع المحلي، بما في ذلك النساء والمسنون والأشخاص ذوو الإعاقة، وتوفير حيز آمن لتبادل الخبرات وتلقي الدعم. c. خدمات المشورة والصحة العقلية: إتاحة إمكانية الحصول على خدمات المشورة والصحة العقلية لمواجهة التحديات الفريدة التي يواجهها اللاجئون والمهاجرون، بما في ذلك الصدمات النفسية والتكيف الثقافي.
