Founded by grass-roots community organizers in the The Bronx, New York, it has grown into a movement that works in cities around the United States, and internationally -- bringing together thousands of young people every year with pr

We are thrilled to be launching ALL STARS LONDON, a grassroots project, led by London drama educator Chantelle Burley and theatre-maker Brian Mullin. Chantelle grew up in Poplar, one of the most deprived neighbourhoods in London's poorest borough. Poplar is literally in the shadow of some of the world's richest banks, which have their glistening office towers just across the train tracks -- but a world away from the housing estates on which Poplar's young people grow up. Without access to jobs or cultural opportunities, many young people in the area feel cut off from the cosmopolitan city that is just around the corner. Chantelle and Brian both worked for years with the All Stars Project in New York, and were inspired by its revolutionary approach, so much so that they are bringing it to London. The idea is simple, but profound: young people from the poorest communities are encouraged to 'perform their lives' -- both onstage and off -- in ways that open up new possibilities for themselves, their communities, and the world.
