Would you like a community clean-up event on your estate?

Recently, residents, members of the Tenants and Residents Association, work experience students from local secondary schools, and Lewisham housing staff recently came together for a community litter-pick and gardening day on the Evelyn estate.

The event welcomed volunteers of all ages and backgrounds, with some spending time improving the community garden while others joined litter-picking teams to help tidy the estate. The day's activities were supported by our bulky waste team, who collected the rubbish gathered by volunteers as they worked around the estate, helping to make a visible difference to the local environment.

The day highlighted the value of residents, partners and staff working together to create cleaner, greener and more welcoming neighbourhoods. It also provided an opportunity for people to meet one another, share ideas and discuss how local spaces can be improved.

We are keen to hold similar events on other estates across the borough and would encourage residents who would like us to visit their block or estate to get in touch with the housing’s resident engagement team ([email protected]).

In our latest blog post, one of our Housing Officers describes a 'typical' day - check the first comment to find out what your Housing Officer can do for you

🚨 Extreme wildfire risk this weekend 🚨
It only takes a spark to start a grass fire or wildfire, and this weekend we have ideal conditions: a long dry spell, low humidity and strengthening winds, all increasing the risk of fast-spreading fires.

Please take extra care:

⚠️ No barbecues in parks or around our estates
⚠️ Dispose of ci******es responsibly
⚠️ Report signs of fire immediately
