🏆 WBA Sports Achievement & Eid Reunion Celebration! 🌙✨

We were absolutely thrilled to host a vibrant evening of celebration, bringing together our local community, distinguished guests, and sports participants!

The event was graced by the presence of our Honourable Rachel Blake MP, Councillors Jim Glen from Pimlico North and Cllr Liza Begum and Cllr Robert Eagleton from Pimlico South wards. CGRA Chair Christina Welsh a partner organisation,, Raful Miah QPBA, Lincon Ahmed BD, Alangir Ahmed, community leaders, and the WBA Management Committee Members.

🥇 Celebrating Sporting Excellence
The highlight of the night was honoring our incredible sports teams who have shown immense dedication, skill, and teamwork this year:

• Badminton Champions: A massive congratulations to our sports club members who took home the trophy in the WBA Inner Badminton Tournament 2026! This project has been instrumental in building confidence, fostering teamwork, and sharpening skills among our members.

• Football Participants: We also extended our warmest congratulations to our Football Team for their fantastic participation and spirited performance in the COPA Moulvibazar Football Tournament 2026!

💬 Share Experiences:
Players from both tournaments took the stage to share what these experiences meant to them:

🏸 Kamru Miah & Suhel Ahmed (Badminton):
"It was great to see so many friends and colleagues. Thank you, WBA, for giving us an opportunity where we can meet friends, yet challenge and compete with each other in a friendly atmosphere. It keeps us physically fit and builds mental awareness."

⚽ Shabaz & Irfan (Football):
"We’ve never been to a Bangladeshi football event quite like this. It brings people from different parts of Moulvibazar together to meet, greet, and connect with our native culture, learning more about Bangladesh and British Bangladeshi heritage. The way forward to a better society is to promote sports. We want WBA to continue this project, and we request our local councillors to support WBA sports projects—sports reduce crime and isolation."

🏛️ A Message from our Leadership
In his welcoming speech, WBA Chair, Mr. Janal, reflected on the organisation’s long-standing legacy and looked ahead to the future:

"WBA has been an active pillar of this area for the last 25 years, working in partnership with Westminster Council since day one to serve our local community. However, we are still waiting for our fair share of support. We are eager and happy to discuss our concerns and needs with the relevant council departments to see how we can work closer together to fulfill the demands of our local community."

🤝 Thank You!
Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and cheered on our youth and participants. Together, through sports, culture, and community engagement, we are building a stronger, healthier, and more connected society.
