Run on a not-for-profit basis, we are endorsed by the Catholic Bishops Conference and the Catholic Education Service of England and Wales. At the heart of our mission are the principles of solidarity and subsidiarity. Our belief is that by working
together, we can save together. Established in 2010 by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference,
Churchmarketplace addresses the need for a central purchasing platform and procurement service. Since
then parishes, religious communities, schools and central curial offices have benefitted from this
corporate purchasing initiative. One of the key areas where economies of scale have really featured is
in schools’ purchasing, especially in Multi-Academy Trusts. The Bishops’ Conference of England and
Wales Secretariat fully endorse the mission of Churchmarketplace as it seeks to bring effective cost-effectiveness to church organisations in difficult economic time

Each year on World Heart Day, 29th September, the World Heart Federation brings together its global network of members to unite and raise awareness of cardiovascular disease (CVD).

When seconds count, access to a defibrillator can make a critical difference. The new updated British Standard published in April 2026 (BS8599-1:2019+A1:2026) now states that if you have 5 or more people on site, you must be able to access an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) anywhere on your premises within 2 minutes. Supporting a fast emergency response when every moment matters.

For schools and educational environments, this is a vital reminder to check that your defibrillator is clearly located, easy to access, and ready for rapid deployment.

Southfield School for Girls found their new catering partner through the Education Buying Group Catering Services framework, which Catholic schools can access thanks to Churchmarketplace and Education Buying.

Their new partner gave their catering service a complete makeover, bringing fresh, global Flavors, themed events and sustainability initiatives with the school’s Eco-Club to the dining hall.

The move boosted student uptake, elevated food quality, and made school lunch something to look forward to again.
