📸 Photography Competition 2026 📸

Over the past few weeks, our learners have been getting creative behind the camera, capturing our amazing site from fresh and unique perspectives.

We were blown away by the talent and creativity shown in every entry. From nature shots to hidden corners of the site, each photograph tells its own story and showcases the beauty of Green Corridor through our learners’ eyes.

Here are just a handful of the fantastic entries we received. A huge well done to everyone who took part – choosing a winner was no easy task!

🏆 The winning photograph will be announced next week

Hannah was one of the first members to join our Community Project.

Before joining our Social Hub, Hannah struggled to find the right fit in other provisions and felt anxious about starting something new. However, after her very first session, it was clear she had found a place where she felt comfortable and supported. We were delighted to receive the message: “Hannah will definitely be back, she said so herself to me,” and we couldn’t have been happier to hear it.

Since then, Hannah has returned every Friday making new friends, learning new skills, and growing in confidence. Seeing her flourish in a supportive and welcoming environment is exactly what our Community Project is all about.

Hannah’s mother, Susan, shared:
“My daughter struggled in mainstream provisions, but Green Corridor’s Community project has given her hope and shown that she can thrive in the right environment. The staff show her great care, patience, and understanding of her needs.”

Stories like Hannah’s are exactly why our Community Project exists – creating a welcoming space where young adults with SEND can build confidence, form friendships, develop life skills, and feel part of their community.🌱

This month, we’re taking time to recognise and celebrate the people, communities and causes that help create a more understanding, inclusive and supportive world. 💚

Throughout this month, we’re highlighting:

🤝 Volunteer Week, celebrating the incredible impact volunteers make in our communities.

💙 Carers Week, recognising the dedication, compassion and support provided by unpaid carers every day.

🌟 Learning Disability Week, promoting inclusion, challenging barriers and celebrating achievements.

🧠 Men’s Mental Health Week, encouraging open conversations and support around men’s wellbeing.

♾️ Autistic Pride Day, celebrating autistic identity, strengths and neurodiversity.

🏳️‍🌈 Pride Month, honouring the LGBTQ+ community, diversity, equality and the ongoing journey toward inclusion.

If any of these causes are meaningful to you, we’d love for you to share this post and help spread awareness. Together, we can help build a more compassionate and inclusive community. ✨

Growing more than plants! 🌱🌻 Our Foundation classes hosted a mini garden sale, using the skills they’ve been learning to communicate with customers and handle transactions. A brilliant hands-on learning experience.

Our first ever Alumni Event 💚✨

What a lovely evening spent catching up with our ex learners, hearing about everything they’ve been up to since leaving Green Corridor and reminiscing on so many special memories together.

Some learners travelled over three hours to come back and see us, some spoke about the friendships they’ve kept since their time here, others shared exciting future plans including starting their own business.

The evening was also a reminder of why our Community Project is so important - creating a space where adults with SEN can continue to feel connected, supported, included and actively part of the Green Corridor community long after leaving education.

Thank you to everyone who joined us - we already can’t wait for the next one ✨

This month important dates include Mental Health Awareness Week and Global Accessibility Awareness Day. As well as May being Tourette’s Awareness Month.

We believe in creating space for understanding, empathy and conversation. We want to start using our platform more to help amplify voices and causes that matter.

💚 Mental Health Awareness Week encourages open conversations around wellbeing and support.
♿ Global Accessibility Awareness Day highlights the importance of digital and physical accessibility for all.
🧠 Tourette’s Awareness Month helps challenge misconceptions and increase understanding of Tourette syndrome.

If any of these resonate with you, please feel free to share this post to help spread awareness.

Our Community Project doing their bit for World Red Cross Day☕️

Our SEN Hub hosted a lovely tea party to raise money for the amazing charity. Clients made cakes, invited their friends and family and served drinks. It was a great success and we have raised over £100 for the cause💚

David gets VIP treatment in our Sunflower Salon 🌻

Our onsite salon gives learners the chance to build real, hands-on experience in a safe, familiar environment where they can learn at their own pace. For our SEN learners, this means developing practical life skills, boosting confidence, and improving communication through real interactions.

The calm, supportive setting helps reduce anxiety while encouraging independence, teamwork and a real sense of achievement. Most importantly, it gives our learners something to feel proud of.
