গত দুই আসরের অভূতপূর্ব সাফল্যের ধারাবাহিকতা বজায় রেখে এ বছর তৃতীয়বারের মতো সিপিএএম ইউকে আয়োজন করতে যাচ্ছে সিটি কাপ ক্রিকেট চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপ ২০২৬—ব্রিটেনে বসবাসরত বাংলাদেশি ক্রিকেটপ্রেমীদের অন্যতম মর্যাদাপূর্ণ ও বহুল প্রতীক্ষিত ক্রিকেট আসর।

গতকাল সিপিএএম ইউকের আয়োজনে সিটি কাপ ক্রিকেট চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপ ২০২৬-এর গ্রুপ লটারি অনুষ্ঠান সফলভাবে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। যুক্তরাজ্যের বিভিন্ন প্রান্ত থেকে আগত ১২টি অংশগ্রহণকারী দলের প্রতিনিধিবৃন্দ এবং সিপিএএম-ইউকের সম্মানিত নেতৃবৃন্দের উপস্থিতিতে প্রাণবন্ত অনুষ্ঠানটি সম্পন্ন হয়।

লটারি পর্ব অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন সিপিএএম-ইউকের সভাপতি মুরাদ আহমদ, সাধারণ সম্পাদক আব্দুল বাছিত জোনেদ, সহ-সভাপতি আখলাসুল মোমিন, সহ-সভাপতি নোমান আহমদ দুয়েল, বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের সাবেক কোচ ও সিপিএএম-ইউকের কার্যকরী কমিটির সদস্য রাসেল আহমেদ, কার্যকরী কমিটির সদস্য পরাগ রহমান ও তোফায়েল হোসেন রিংকু, সিপিএএম-ইউকের সাবেক সাধারণ সম্পাদক সৈয়দ করিম রুমেল, সিটি কাপ চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপ ম্যানেজমেন্ট কমিটির সদস্য সৈয়দ এলাহী পাপ্পু, এবং সিপিএএম-ইউকের অন্যান্য নেতৃবৃন্দ ও ম্যানেজমেন্ট কমিটির সদস্যবৃন্দ।

আগামী ৫ আগস্ট রেডব্রিজের ফোর্ড স্পোর্টস অ্যান্ড সোশ্যাল ক্লাব মাঠে বর্ণাঢ্য উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানের মধ্য দিয়ে সিটি কাপ ক্রিকেট চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপ ২০২৬ টুর্নামেন্টের প্রথম পর্বের খেলা শুরু হবে।

আপনাদের সকলকে আন্তরিক আমন্ত্রণ। মাঠে উপস্থিত থেকে আপনাদের প্রিয় শহরের দলকে উৎসাহ দিন এবং উপভোগ করুন রোমাঞ্চ, প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতা ও সৌহার্দ্যে ভরপুর এক অসাধারণ ক্রিকেট উৎসব।

On behalf of the entire CPAM UK family, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Forhad and his loved ones during this time of immense grief.

We pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgives the deceased, grants him Jannatul Firdaus, and blesses his grave with peace and mercy. May Allah also grant Forhad and his family patience, strength, and comfort as they endure this difficult loss.

Team Introduction | Oldham King Riders 👑🏏

The countdown continues as we proudly introduce one of the tournament’s most recognised and respected teams – Oldham King Riders!

Representing the proud cricketing community of Oldham, one of the strongest hubs of Bangladeshi cricket in Greater Manchester, Oldham King Riders have established themselves as one of the region’s most successful and well-respected clubs.

After entering last year’s City Cup as one of the tournament favourites, boasting Bangladesh national stars Mosaddek Hossain Saikat and Abu Haider Rony, the team unfortunately fell short of the high expectations they had set for themselves. This season, however, they return with renewed determination, greater hunger, and unfinished business.

Leading the side is Captain Sarek Huda, who will be looking to inspire his team in their pursuit of City Cup glory. Although the club has lost several talented UK-based Bangladeshi cricketers, including Rumel, Emon, Mahbub, Sabbir, and Nazmul, they have retained a strong core and continue to build a competitive squad.

The club is yet to unveil their overseas or Bangladeshi star signing, and with anticipation growing, many believe one marquee addition could transform them into one of the strongest contenders in the competition once again.

Behind every successful club is a dedicated management team, and Oldham King Riders are no different. Manager Mohammed Alom, together with experienced club officials Khaled Ahmed and Foyez Ahmed, have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to strengthen the club and prepare the team for another exciting City Cup campaign. Their commitment, vision, and passion continue to drive the club forward.

With a proud reputation to uphold and a point to prove after last year’s disappointment, Oldham King Riders will be determined to show why they remain one of the most feared teams in the tournament.

Can the King Riders turn last year’s heartbreak into this year’s triumph and bring the City Cup trophy back to Oldham? 👑🏆
