Dear friends and colleagues,
It is with deep sorrow that we, the JRRMCIAN UK Alumni Association, learned of the devastating landslide and flash flood that struck the Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts of Nepal on Wednesday. With hundreds of lives lost and over a thousand people still unaccounted for, this is a tragedy of a scale that is hard to comprehend, and the search and rescue efforts that continue today weigh heavily on all our hearts.
On behalf of every member of our association, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the people of Nepal and to all who have lost loved ones, homes and livelihoods in this disaster.
We hold a special place in our hearts for our Nepali colleagues and classmates from JRRMC, who studied and trained alongside us and remain part of our extended family. To all of you, and to your families, relatives and friends back home — we are thinking of you, and we pray that your loved ones are safe. If any of you, or anyone close to you, has been affected in any way, please do reach out to us. You are not alone, and we will do whatever we can to support you.
Our thoughts are also with the rescue teams, the healthcare workers and the volunteers working tirelessly in extremely difficult conditions to save lives and care for the injured.
We stand in solidarity with Nepal, and we pray for the safe return of those still missing, strength for the bereaved, and a swift recovery for those who have been injured.
With deepest sympathy and solidarity,
On behalf of every member of JRRMCIAN UK Alumni Association.
Dr. Ebadur Rahman Chowdhury.
President, JRRMCian UK Alumni Association
Dr Abdul Kabir Chowdhury.
Secretary, JRRMCian UK Alumni Association
