UK Youth All things youth work and young people!

UK Youth’s new 2025 strategy, β€œUnlocking Youth Work” outlines a bold ambition to impact young lives by unlocking youth work as a catalyst for change. We will work in partnership to build a cross-sector movement, creating a society that understands, champions, and delivers effective youth work for all. With an open network of over 8000 youth organisations and nation partners, we are focused on unlocking youth work as the catalyst of change that is needed now more than ever.

What do the world's first electrical safety standards and a handwritten record from Madame Tussaud's have in common?

They're both part of a remarkable historic archive now being auctioned to support young people across the UK πŸ’™

⚑ In 1882, engineer Thomas Musgrave Heaphy created pioneering electrical safety rules that helped shape the safe adoption of electricity around the world.

🎭 In 1856, a handwritten letter documented additions to Madame Tussaud's famous waxwork collection, offering a rare glimpse into the early history of one of London's most iconic attractions.

These are just two of the fascinating stories hidden within Intact Insurance's archive collection, now being brought into the public eye for the first time.

πŸ“… Two charity auctions:
β€’ 9 June – Fire insurance themed auction
β€’ 7 July – Main archive collection

Every bid placed will help support UK Youth's work with young people across the UK, helping them build confidence, develop skills and access opportunities for the future.
Because history isn't just something we preserve β€” it's something we can use to create brighter futures.

This , we’re celebrating the incredible volunteers from Intact Insurance who support the Building Aspirations programme alongside UK Youth. πŸ’™

Through mentoring, employability workshops, insight sessions and scholarship panels, Intact volunteers help young people build confidence, strengthen their skills and gain valuable insight into the world of work.

Over the past year, 25 volunteers have contributed more than 100 hours of support, helping create opportunities and open doors for young people.

Their contribution goes far beyond volunteering hours β€” they show young people what’s possible.

Thank you to every volunteer supporting young people to build brighter futures.
