UK Youth All things youth work and young people!

UK Youth’s new 2025 strategy, “Unlocking Youth Work” outlines a bold ambition to impact young lives by unlocking youth work as a catalyst for change. We will work in partnership to build a cross-sector movement, creating a society that understands, champions, and delivers effective youth work for all. With an open network of over 8000 youth organisations and nation partners, we are focused on unlocking youth work as the catalyst of change that is needed now more than ever.

Today, we're wishing our President, Nigel Mansell, a very happy birthday! 🎉

Since becoming President in 1999, Nigel has been an incredible champion for UK Youth, helping to raise millions through a host of fundraising challenges and tirelessly supporting our mission to ensure every young person is equipped to thrive.

We're especially grateful for Nigel's support of our Avon Tyrrell Capital Appeal, where he's helping us raise £1 million to build a new indoor adventure, learning and sports centre that will give 5,000 more young people each year the chance to build confidence, resilience and lifelong skills.

Thank you, Nigel, for everything you've done for UK Youth and the thousands of young people whose lives you've helped change.

Help make this year's UK Youth Gala Dinner silent auction one to remember.
We're looking for luxury prizes and unique experiences to inspire generous bidding in support of young people across the UK.

From fine dining and hotel stays to tickets, hospitality packages, beauty, jewellery and exclusive experiences, every donation helps us raise vital funds to back every young person through each spark, struggle and success.

Current prizes include a vintage Vivienne Westwood handbag, dinner for two at Hutong at The Shard, and a vineyard tour and wine tasting experience - and we'd love to add yours.

In recognition of your support, your organisation will receive brand recognition throughout the evening at our Gala Dinner.

To donate a prize or find out more, contact us at [email protected]

We're incredibly grateful to Intact Insurance for raising an amazing £88,646 through its unique Archive Auctions in support of UK Youth.

Over June and July, hundreds of historic insurance artefacts found new homes, with every bid helping to turn centuries of history into opportunities for young people today.

These vital funds will help UK Youth widen the reach and deepen the impact of youth work and outdoor learning, supporting more young people through each spark, struggle, and success.

This initiative is a brilliant example of what long-term partnerships can achieve. Through their ongoing support—from fundraising initiatives like this to programmes such as Building Aspirations—Intact Insurance continues to demonstrate a genuine commitment to creating brighter futures for young people.

A huge thank you to everyone who placed a bid, shared the story or supported the auctions, and to Special Auction Services and The Saleroom for helping bring this incredible project to life.

Together, we're showing that history can do more than tell the story of the past—it can help shape the future for the next generation. 💙

One question. One minute. Your insight matters.

AI and digital tools are changing the way we work with young people. But how prepared is your organisation to use them safely, confidently and effectively?

Poll closes 3 August.

The more responses we receive, the better we can understand how the sector is adopting AI and identify where support is needed.

Young people are not asking adults to leave the online world unchanged. They see the harms caused by addictive design, misleading content, and unsafe uses of AI as clearly as anyone else.

But many are also unconvinced that banning under-16s from social media is, on its own, the right answer.

Through our role in the government's Growing Up in the Online World consultation, we had a unique opportunity to hear directly from young people. Their message was clear: they want change—but they want solutions that reflect the reality of their digital lives.

So, what did young people say they want?

Our latest blog explores what young people told us: https://www.ukyouth.org/2026/07/beyond-the-ban-what-young-people-want-the-government-to-change-online/
