Groundswell was born 30 years ago from Speak Outs, which allowed people with experience of homelessness, whose voices were previously unheard, to have a say on decisions that would affect their future.

These were arranged around the country and established Groundswell as a force to be recognised, drawing both service providers and users together to engage in meaningful conversation.

This Recipe Book captures the sense of collective action and empowerment that Speak Outs offered. It contains practical tried and tested hints and tips from Speak Out facilitators on how to organise your own successful Speak Out.

The health system isn't working for people experiencing homelessness. Help us change that.

At Groundswell, we believe everyone should be able to access healthcare with dignity, whatever their circumstances.

Through our Homeless Health Peer Advocacy (HHPA) service, we work alongside people experiencing homelessness to overcome barriers to healthcare while working with partners across health, housing and homelessness to create lasting systems change.

We're looking for an HHPA Development Manager to help lead that work: https://groundswell.org.uk/jobs/

You'll build partnerships across London, lead our peer-led Health Promotion programme, support an exceptional team of staff and volunteers, and help shape the future of HHPA.

We're looking for someone who believes:

In 1996, people experiencing homelessness were being shut out, ignored and left behind.

A group of people with lived experience came together and refused to be spoken for. They organised, spoke out and demanded change on their own terms.

That became Groundswell. Today, we are still working hard to share the voices of those experiencing homelessness.

We’re currently recruiting for three roles:

• Homeless Health Peer Advocacy Development Manager
• Islington Homeless Health Peer Advocacy Caseworker
• Office and Administration Assistant

These roles offer the opportunity to join a charity working alongside people with experience of homelessness to improve access to healthcare, amplify people’s voices and create better futures.

The Islington Caseworker deadline is 10am on Friday 7 August. The Development Manager and Office and Administration Assistant deadlines are 10am on Monday 17 August.
