A complementary Development Approach:
The Alliance for International Development (A-fID) was established in March 2015. The founders set out to markedly improve the wellbeing of poor and vulnerable people in Sierra Leone - in the long run across the Mano River Union countries (Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea). Through strategic priorities that could have lasting impacts in the fight against glob
al poverty. A-fID is a player in the international development arena due to the extraordinary generosity of the founders, donors and partners. The independent board of trustees, management staff and partners are constantly seeking new ways to improve on our activities and to expand the impact of our projects. Our Method
As an organisation that is focused on human development as key to breaking the vicious circle of poverty, our method is rooted in allowing beneficiaries to play key role in programme design and implementation. Our method is thus participatory development centred on building the capabilities of beneficiaries. Beneficiaries therefore play key role in developing, managing and implementing projects in their communities. We believe in a bottom up approach to international development.
'Using skills & knowledge to challenge poverty’:
We believe that building capabilities of less fortunate people in a transparent environment is the world’s prize – a prize that embodies better life for millions of poor and vulnerable people across Sierra Leone enabling them to make positive contributions to global security and prosperity. So we aim to endow poor and vulnerable people across Sierra Leone with skills & knowledge so doing enhance their abilities to challenge poverty. Our effort we believe could lead to sustainable human and economic development. Our areas of work include the unlocking of social and economic freedoms and keener ways to making sure transparency is guaranteed across communities in every human interaction. We will pioneer programmes that promote trust, honesty and openness. Nutrition for children ages 0-5 years
