Well, that came around fairly quick, didn't it?

A Chairde, delighted to say we will once again be marching in the St Patrick's Parade in London and you're welcome to join us!

The parade will take place on Sunday March 15th, we'd love to see as many people as possible join us as we promenade down Piccadilly before ending up at Trafalgar Square.

So, if you would like to join us on the day, send us an email [email protected] just to ensure that no one is left behind.

This year's Grand Marshall

Our Chair, Vanessa, represents our group on the Community Advisory Board, who work with the Lord Mayor's office and the Greater London Authority to make the St Patrick's Festival happen and ensure that LGBTQ voices and other minority voices are represented. We're all delighted that Vanessa's suggestion to the Community Advisory Board for Grand Marshall has come to fruition.

This year's Grand Marshall will be the wonderful Emma Dabiri, author, academic, broadcaster and all round inspiration.

Register your interest

We'll have all the details closer to the date but we normally meet at an allocated point for 11am so make sure you're there on time. Once the parade starts, it's a lot harder to find each other.

So please email us to register your interest to join us on March 15th, this is purely we we have an idea of numbers and no one is left behind. Again, email: [email protected]

Looking forward to seeing you all!

Wishing you all a very happy, healthy and peaceful festive season.See you all in 2026!

We remember all those who lost their lives to AIDS. Today we also remember those who cared for our Irish siblings when they came to London for treatment. Their love, support and courage will never be forgotten.

We also look to a brighter future and to the knowledge that those with a HIV+ diagnosis can live full, healthy and happy lives.

Reminder: get yourself tested!

Starting off our winter run of Online Book Clubs, on October 8th, we’re going to discuss Colm Tóibín’s The Story of The Night. Do join us!

The Story of the Night is a bildungsroman by Irish novelist Colm Tóibín. The novel interweaves the personal story of Richard Garay, a gay Argentinian man with an English mother, and the political history of Argentina through the late 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s.

Told entirely in the first person, the novel presents a wholly convincing picture of a character who could almost be described as an anti-hero, and who distills not just the Argentinian but the global late 20th century mix of sexual and economic “freedoms” in a single life: a “story of the night” lights otherwise shadowy places.

Toibín’s third novel, it was his first to feature a gay character.

The book is available from all good and bad booksellers and on Kindle. There are also lots of very affordable pre-owned copies on eBay.

All are welcome, you don't have to be Irish to join in!
