Enfield Carers Centre

Enfield Carers Centre Enfield Carers Centre is a local charity offering support and advice for all unpaid carers in the borough of Enfield.

A carer is someone of any age who provides unpaid support to family or friends who could not manage without help. This could be caring for a partner, relative or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or substance misuse problems. 1 in 8 adults are carers. Anyone can become a carer at any time in their life. Every day in the UK 6,000 people take on a caring responsibility. There a

re 29,000 unpaid carers within the Borough. No two caring roles are the same and no two carers are the same. We offer a wide range of services to allow all carers to have a life outside of caring and enable carers to keep caring. We offer social activities, opportunities to meet with other local carers, relaxation sessions for some 'me time' and practical advice and information. Enfield Carers Centre works closely with Enfield Council to deliver a high quality service for carers. Enfield Council supports Enfield Carers Centre both financially and with valuable information and resources. Find out more about the services offered to Carers in Enfield.

Vikki Slade MP has launched a petition calling for every school to have a Young Carer's champion. We know this would make a huge difference to the lives of Young Carers, so we're fully in support. Are you?

You can show your support by clicking the link below and signing the petition: https://www.change.org/p/appoint-a-young-carers-champion-in-every-school-in-england

We're backing Vikki Slade MP's call for a Young Carer's Champion in every school.

More than 4,500 schools already have a lead for young carers, but every school needs one.

Having this kind of support in all our schools can make a huge difference in helping young carers to balance learning and caring.

Help get Vikki's petition to 100,000 signatures by the end of August by adding your support here: https://www.change.org/p/appoint-a-young-carers-champion-in-every-school-in-england

🎵 The Power of Music at Connections Day Care & Community Club 🎵

Music has an incredible way of bringing people together, especially for people living with dementia. Singing can unlock cherished memories, reduce anxiety, boost confidence, and bring smiles when words sometimes cannot.

At Connections Day Care & Community Club, we love seeing the joy that music brings to our attendees. Whether it's singing along to favourite classics, clapping to the beat, or simply sharing a laugh, every session is filled with friendship, happiness, and meaningful moments.

Our welcoming day care service provides a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where people can socialise, enjoy a variety of activities, and maintain their independence while giving family carers valuable respite.

If you're looking for a friendly and welcoming day care service for a loved one, we'd love to hear from you.

Dementia UK reported that meaningful activities are good for us all and can go a long way toward improving the quality of our lives.

So if you’re caring for a person with dementia, thinking of meaningful activities for them to engage with could be extremely beneficial.

Meaningful activities can include:

Gardening
Cooking
Games
Arts and crafts
Cleaning
Dancing
And much more

When selecting which meaningful activities to engage with, try to link them to the interests the person enjoyed before their diagnosis, but also be mindful of their physical abilities and how much they can or cannot do.

Which meaningful activities will you be engaging in this week?

Make sure you save this or share it with someone who could benefit.
