We were on TV!

HEET's Energy Advisor Alex and local resident Doreen appeared on BBC Politics London a few weeks ago as part of a piece on energy bill price rises.

As Alex says 'People are really scared...People are scared the energy, the gas, electric might get turned off... People are not heating their homes where they should be'.

One way you can take action on fuel poverty locally is to support HEET's work by donating to our crowdfund: https://localgiving.org/fundraising/act_on_fuel_poverty
(and link in bio). We have been working for 25 years in Waltham Forest and Enfield to help people like Doreen to get warmer and healthier homes and lower energy bills.

*Why do we need your support now?

Many people in Enfield and Waltham Forest are in fuel poverty. This means they are living in cold homes that are affecting their health and facing bills rising faster than their incomes. Many struggle to afford gas, electricity or water bills, or owe money to their energy suppliers. The number of people in fuel poverty is rising.

We have been working in north-east London for 25 years to make people's homes more energy efficient, warmer and less damp, and to reduce the cost of residents’ energy bills. But it is increasingly hard to raise the money to do the work we do, as demand for our services increases, and there is less funding available.

We want to continue to support as many people as we can. Clients value our work and the care we give: ‘HEET provides life-saving services and should be in every borough... It’s such a relief knowing I can put the heating on now and it has helped me feel like I matter.’
