THREE PEAKS DONE!

In just 24hours, the Salters ‘ Company Young Livery & Freedom team completed the Three Peaks Challenge:

 Ben Nevis: Peak 1, reached in an impressive 2 hours and 45 minutes

Scafell Pike: Peak 2, completed at 23.35 Saturday evening

Snowdon: Peak 3 reached at dawn Sunday

Competitive to the end, they reached the summit of Snowdon in separate groups. A fantastic achievement by an amazing team.

The challenge was in support of Foundation, whose mission is to end youth violence and social exclusion in London.

BIGKID FOUNDATION is a multi-award-winning youth and community charity established in 2008 whose mission is to end youth violence. They work with over 2,500 young people aged 11-25 years of age each year. Their Youth club, Dexters in Brixton provides a busy and varied programme of free activities for disadvantaged young people from underserved local communities, 5 evenings/week, 48 weeks/year.

Tomorrow The Salters’ Company Young Livery & Freedom are continuing the Salters’ Charitable Foundation partnership with BigKid by climbing the three peaks in just 24 hours. All funds raised will go directly to the Dexters’ Youth Club which offers a safe place for children and young people to take part in activities that include a hot meal and snacks provided at every session. Alan Wordie's epic handbike journey from Land's End to John O'Groats is now well underway. This weekend he was joined at Loch Ness by Salter Bear, who shared his energy snacks and tried out the bike.
