What changes is whether they get the chance to chase it. That’s what the Thousand Mile Cake Tour is all about, and we loved having Martins with us in Liverpool earlier this week.

5 birthdays. That’s what the 1,826 candles on our cake stand for. Every child deserves to reach them, and then go on to live a life full of plenty more.

Yesterday the Thousand Mile Cake Tour landed at the Pier Head, and Liverpool did what Liverpool does. Showed up, got stuck in.

Huge thanks to Martins Imhangbe , actor, activist and part of ONE’s Diaspora Creative Council, for joining us and lending his voice to the campaign.

Child deaths have more than halved since 2000, and that didn’t happen by luck. It happened because people pushed. Last year, progress stopped for the first time. That’s the crossroads we’re standing at.

With Labour conference in full swing down the road and a new PM settling in, there’s never been a better week to ask what Britain stands for. We think Britain is better than this.

We already know how to stop this. We’ve proved it, child deaths have more than halved since 2000.
