Thames Sailing Barge Parade Raising profile and awareness of the Thames Sailing Barges, their history and their future.

The Thames Sailing Barge Parade was created to raise the profile and public awareness of the Thames Sailing Barges and the role that they played in the development of Victorian Britain. On the 17th September 2016 nine Barges formed a procession and paraded through Tower Bridge displaying to the assembled crowds these unique vessels. Then on the 18th September the barges gathered in West India Dock

for a mass open day joined by a pop up museum with displays from

The Society for Sailing Barge Research,
Chaffcutter Books,
The Docklands Museum,
TS Rigging,
Alan Williams - Master Shipwright
