Former huntswoman of the Lauderdale Hunt, Claire Bellamy convicted under the new Scottish Hunting Act today, thanks to the evidence supplied by Glasgow Hunt Sabs 👏🏼.

**FIRST CONVICTION UNDER NEW SCOTTISH HUNTING ACT**

Earlier today at Paisley Sheriff Court, Claire Bellamy, ex-hunstwoman and former Master of the Lauderdale Hunt, was found guilty under the Hunting with Dogs (Scotland) Act 2023.

She is the first registered fox hunter to be convicted under this legislation, making today a historic moment in the fight for an anti-hunt future for Scotland.

Bellamy was filmed by members of Glasgow Hunt Saboteurs on 4th January, 2025 in Houston, Renfrewshire, deliberately hunting a fox with a pack of hounds while supposedly operating under licence from NatureScot.

However, it emerged that Bellamy did not have the required paperwork in place to be in charge of the hounds that day. The judge found Bellamy guilty after viewing footage obtained by hunt saboteurs, describing the footage as 'gut wrenching'.

It has taken more than 18 months, but today we finally got the result we always knew we should get.

Over the coming months, more of Scotland's fox hunters will find themselves in the dock facing a whole range of charges. After today's verdict, we're sure they won't be feeling quite so confident.

We will not stop until all hunts in Scotland are shut down for good.

Claire Bellamy will be sentenced at a later date.

Met with relentless sabbing the Warwickshire Hunt are desperately trying to evade us. Their new hunting team are weak, inexperienced, and the cracks are already beginning to show.

We will carry on doing what WMHS are known for. Persistent, focused and dedicated sabbing.

We wrecked the Warwickshire Hunt meet this morning. The foxes in Avon Dassett are safe from the hunt for now.

Spooner's & West Dartmoor Hunt are scraping the barrel for numbers ⬇️

Last month, the Eggesford huntsman was convicted in Exeter Magistrates' Court after his hounds pursued a fox which was bolted from rubble in the ground.

The farm where the dig occured was owned by Lloyd Heard (top). Heard and his accomplice; terrierman Tom Bounsall (bottom), were identified as the two men digging the fox.

Both men were initally charged with the offence.

Despite the associated conviction and intent shown throughout the incident - both these men subsequently, quietly had their charges dropped by the CPS.

📣Great news - Plymouth & West Devon Hunt Sabs have reported that the Dartmoor Hunt has been issued with a Community Protection Warning by Devon & Cornwall Police.

The news came after we highlighted three incidents involving this hunt last season. In two incidents, foxes were filmed as they were hunted and killed by the Dartmoor Hounds, one of which was filmed by Devon County Hunt Saboteurs.

In the third incident Plymouth & West Devon Hunt Sabs filmed as they interuppted two of the hunt terrier-men midway through digging out a hunted fox.

The fox made a getaway as the terrier-men were forced to abandon the dig and pack up while the sabs' cameras recorded the whole incident.
