The Romanian Rescue Appeal is a UK founded rescue and a registered charity (No 1161037). We are a team of volunteers dedicated to rescuing dogs from Romania where so many dogs face extreme hardship and cruelty. We aim to give them a lifeline to a better life. We fund our work through donations, fund raising events and sponsorship
Our dream is to find new loving homes here in the U.K for as many d
ogs as we can. We also aim to support the building of more rescue centres in Romania so that the dogs have a safe place to stay before they come to the U.K
The majority of our dogs are in Romania in private foster or at Freedom Farm which is our rescue centre in Romania. We have over 200 dogs of all ages that we are looking to re-home. The adoption process starts with a home check is carried out by a volunteer home checker. Once the home check has been approved we then arrange for the dog to be prepared for transport to the U.K. This involves the dog being spayed/neutered (for adult dogs only. Puppies must be spayed/neutered when old enough as a condition of the adoption contract), final vaccinations and pet passport. Once you have chosen your dog we ask for a non-refundable deposit of £50. This can be paid through Paypal or our bank account. We will email you an adoption contract which you will need to sign and return. The balance of the minimum adoption fee of £205 must be paid 10 days before the departure date of your dog as we need to pay for the transport in advance. The dog is then booked the dog onto the next available transport from Romania. This is a 2 day road trip. The dog will either arrive at a DEFRA registered kennel in the UK where a DEFRA vet will inspect the dog and check their passport or the dog may be delivered straight to your home. Please note there are limited kennels in the UK who provide this service and they may not necessarily be near to you. If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
