🚐 One final fundraising push before we head off to the Scottish Highlands for Summer Camp! 🏕️⛰️

Our Explorers and leaders have worked incredibly hard raising money for a new minibus, taking on challenges like walking the Circle Line, hosting bake sales and running quiz nights.

Last weekend we headed up to Eryri for our annual Warm Up for Summer Camp! We had a great time hiking, canoeing, and practising our navigation skills. Two of our Leaders also passed the assessment for their T2 hillwalking permits, which is great as it means we can take even more young people out into the mountains!

We had a great time at our fundraising quiz night yesterday! A big thank you to everyone who came and took part, and to the legendary Shaun Wallace - The Dark Destroyer - The Chase for being our quizmaster! The quiz night helped to raise lots of money for our minibus fund, and we are getting closer to purchasing a new minibus in time for our Scotland Summer Camp. It’s quiz time!! As part of the fundraising campaign for our new minibus, we are holding a celebrity-hosted quiz in June!

We’re thrilled to welcome special guest Shaun Wallace (AKA The Dark Destroyer from The Chase) who’ll be joining us for a night of proper quiz action at St Peter Le Poer Church in Muswell Hill, on June 19th.

Tickets include entry to the event and dinner, and there will also be the opportunity to buy drinks and cake. Plus we’ll be holding a raffle with loads of exciting prizes! All proceeds from the event will go towards buying our new minibus and helping our young people to take part in amazing adventures!

This week we kicked off the term with a range of icebreakers and a quiz to get to know our new members to the Unit before a couple of our Explorers taught the rest of us some traditional Scottish dances!

Help get WWESU back on the road! 🚐⛰️

If you’ve enjoyed following our adventures then you’ll know that they’re all made possible by our much-loved minibus. However sadly our minibus has now reached the end of its life so we are fundraising to buy a new one, and would really appreciate your support!

Having our own minibus makes a huge difference, and means we are able to get to camps safely and affordably. If we can’t buy a new minibus then we will either have to increase the cost of camps (to fund commercial hire), or reduce the number of Explorers who can participate. We don’t want either of those to happen, so are running a fundraising campaign for a new minibus.

All Explorers and Leaders are carrying out individual and group fundraising, but we are also asking for support from our wider community through our JustGiving page below.

If you are able to support us then we would be so grateful for any donation that you feel able to give!

And if you’re not able to donate then we’d really appreciate it if you could consider sharing this post so we can reach as many people as possible.
