The Psychosynthesis Trust helps people become more of who they are. More access to love and will, more empathy, connection and power to act.

The Psychosynthesis Trust is the longest established psychosynthesis centre in Britain. It was founded in 1965 by ‘the father of psychosynthesis’, Roberto Assagioli, together with Sir George Trevelyan, Dr Martin Israel and Geoffrey Leytham. Lady Diana Whitmore led the Trust from 1980 and is now the President. The Trust supports people to be their fullest selves, and to take responsibility for who they are and what they do. By building self-awareness and connection to love and will, we believe people can create a kinder, more compassionate and connected world. This way we can collectively work with the challenges of our evolving future, putting love into action for the good of the whole.

To begin Black History Month, we celebrate the life and legacy of Wangari Maathai — Kenyan environmentalist, women’s rights advocate and founder of the Green Belt Movement who was the first African woman to win the Novel Peace Prize.⁠

Through her work, Maathai demonstrated the profound connection between environmental care, community empowerment and social change. Her life reminds us of the possibilities that can emerge when we nurture both people and the land around us.�⁠

As she wrote in Unbowed:�“There are opportunities even in the most difficult moments.”⁠

A powerful reminder to look for possibility, growth and hope — even in challenging times.⁠

Sue and Camilla invite practitioners to explore what it means to restore soul in the therapy space, reminding us that healing often begins in the quiet, in the dark, in the imaginal places where something wiser takes the lead.

Almost a month since Lady Diana Whitmore passed, the Trust would like to share some of the wonderful memories shared by those who knew her - in both her personal and professional life.

Diana's life was celebrated by friends and the Trust community in a touching meditation on 4th September, where people shared memories of her compassion, grace, warmth and wisdom.

Applications for the Trust's Diploma in Supervision are now open!

If you feel called to deepen your clinical practice by helping to guide others on their psychosynthesis journey, you can apply to join the our supervision training programme, beginning in March 2027.

The Diploma is designed for qualified Counsellors and Psychotherapists of any modality, bringing together transpersonal, humanistic and psychodynamic perspectives. It is held in a hybrid format, designed with the busy professional in mind to help support the breadth of your clinical practice.

We are so sad to bring you the news that Diana Whitmore died on Tuesday at 1.26pm. Her son was by her side, which would have been such a great source of comfort for Diana. She had been ill in hospital for a week with a brain aneurysm.

Diana was a remarkable woman in so many ways, and a force of nature. She led a rich and interesting life, starting off as a hippy during her twenties.

She leaves behind a legacy that will continue through the work of the Psychosynthesis Trust and Growing2gether, alongside the countless lives they have changed and will go on to change.
