The agenda is shaped by the One Young World Community through the Global Consultation Process, ensuring maximum relevance to the issues affecting young people. As well as listening to keynote speakers, Delegates have the opportunity to challenge, interact and be mentored by world leaders. Delegates make lasting connections throughout the Summit, celebrating their participation at social events and the unforgettable Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Young leaders are selected to attend the Summit via competitive selection processes, based on proven leadership ability and impact. Building a diverse international community is One Young World’s priority with a wide range of scholarship schemes available. In 2018, 50,000+ applications were received by One Young World. At the end of the Summit, Delegates become One Young World Ambassadors. They return to their communities and organisations with the means and motivation to make a difference, accessing the global network of 12,000+ young leaders to accelerate existing initiatives or establish new ventures. Between Summits, the One Young World Community participates in an ongoing programme of opportunities including caucuses, funding, peer-to-peer mentoring, media exposure, and speaking engagements. “Here, there used to be a forest.”
It's a phrase heard across Latin America, where forests have disappeared within a single lifetime.

For One Young World Ambassador Simón Torras, that loss inspired action. Through Ponterra, he works with local farmers and communities in Panama and Mexico to restore degraded land into biodiverse forests and healthy soils.

His message this :
Nature isn't decoration. It's infrastructure.
The water we drink, the food we grow, and the climate we depend on all rely on healthy ecosystems. And when given the chance, nature can recover.

In Panama's Azuero Peninsula, Ponterra has already restored 10,000+ hectares of land, creating benefits for both people and planet.

Will you be part of the comeback?

You didn’t buy it. So the planet pays for it. 🌍

Every year, $163 billion worth of fashion inventory goes unsold — around eight percent of total stock.

Much of it ends up in landfill, incinerated, or shipped overseas.

In the face of such overwhelming waste, it’s easy to ask, “What can we even do about this?”

Our Ambassador Amrita Bhasin is showing what taking action looks like. ♻️

She founded Sotira to help the top brands and suppliers in the United States:

• move excess inventory away from landfill,
• extend the life of unsold products,
• connect with trusted secondary buyers, and
• use AI to reduce waste before it happens.

Because sustainability isn’t just about shopping differently.

It’s about fixing the systems creating the waste in the first place.

Share this with someone who cares about building a better future for fashion. 🛍️

Mental health support changes lives. So do the people brave enough to build it. 💚

As we wrap up Mental Health Awareness Month, we are celebrating young leaders creating spaces for people to feel seen, supported and connected.

From accessible teletherapy in Africa, to tackling loneliness among young adults in the United Kingdom, to life-saving su***de prevention tools available online in 50+ countries — our Ambassadors are proving that care, empathy and community can transform lives around the world.

Mental health struggles should never be something people face alone.

Swipe through to meet the young leaders helping build a more compassionate world. Alice, David and James are part of our newly formed Men's Mental Health Ambassador Group, which will be announced soon.

Reflecting on the month, tell us: what helps you feel supported in your everyday life? 🌍

The ‘TikTok Mayor’ who put a 70-person Spanish village on the map.

Did you feel like you had to leave home to build a future?

Today, more than 57% of the world’s population lives in cities, and that number continues to grow. (World Bank) So, what happens when young people leave rural areas?

Villages shrink. Schools close. Communities disappear.

Between 2015 and 2020, the population of predominantly rural regions in the European Union continued to decline. (Eurostat) Across Europe, many rural communities are being left behind as young people move away in search of opportunity.

But our Ambassador Enrique Collada Sánchez refuses to let that happen.

At just 26 years old, Enrique became one of Spain’s youngest mayors, leading El Recuenco, a village of only 70 residents.

In 2025, he was recognised as One Young World’s Politician of the Year for his work tackling rural depopulation and proving that young people can transform even the smallest communities. 🌱

Enrique believes rural communities are not places to abandon. They are places to invest in, protect and reimagine.

Through sustainable innovation, youth leadership and social entrepreneurship, Enrique is helping young people see a future in the communities they call home.

His message is clear: leadership is not about power or status. It is about showing up for your community and creating opportunities for others.

The future of rural communities depends on whether young people are given a reason to stay, return and lead. ✨

How safe do you feel saying “I’m not okay”?

Our Ambassador, Shreeya Giri, grew up in Nepal, where at least 1 in 10 people have a mental health condition, yet only 15% of workers feel comfortable talking about it with their employers. (TPO Nepal)

But instead of accepting the silence, Shreeya built a solution.

She founded Happy Minds, Nepal’s first platform offering a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP), bringing mental wellbeing into workplaces through awareness, training, and accessible care.

So far, Shreeya has supported 40+ organisations across Nepal. 💙

But her mission doesn’t stop at the office door.

Today, Happy Minds also provides:
🧠 seven-day mental health support across 65+ conditions,
👥 group therapy and wellbeing workshops for Nepali communities,
🤝 community wellbeing initiatives, awareness campaigns, and psychological first aid training, and
🌍 global online access to mental health professionals and wellbeing services.

Because asking for help shouldn’t feel impossible — at work, at home, or anywhere else.

Do you feel supported in your mental health at work?

Is our world really built for everyone?

Our Ambassador Hussein Oraby realised it often wasn’t — even during his time at one of the world’s most “inclusive” universities.

Because while ramps, policies, and assistive tools matter, true inclusion goes beyond access alone. Too often, talented people are still overlooked, underestimated, or excluded from opportunities to thrive independently.

Hussein didn’t wait for the system to catch up. He built a new one. 💡

He founded Smart Disability Society (SDS Egypt) to help to break barriers for visually impaired people in education and employment through assistive technology, career support, education, and community.

So far, Hussein has empowered 20,000+ learners.

Because dignity and opportunity should never depend on whether a system is built to include you.

Inclusion is not an extra – it should be the norm.

A Palestinian and an Israeli stood on the stage united by one belief: peace is possible. 🕊️

Aziz Abu Sarah and Maoz Inon are not only friends, but they also call each other brothers.

Both have lost loved ones to the Israel-Palestine conflict. Yet instead of choosing hatred, they chose dialogue, empathy and action. Together, they lead InterAct International, a non-profit built to foster reconciliation and peace throughout Palestine and Israel, and beyond.

Since last year, they have:
📖 co-authored a book about peace in the region, ‘The Future Is Peace: A Shared Journey Across the Holy Land’,
🔥 carried the 2026 Winter Olympics torch together in Italy, and
🌍 continued to encourage the global community to spread peace by breaking down hate and intolerance through speaking engagements, their book tour and media appearances.

Their message is powerful: peace can be built through understanding and shared humanity.

This year, we are honoured to welcome Aziz and Maoz back to the One Young World Summit Cape Town, 2026 as Counsellors.

The future belongs to leaders willing to choose courage over division and humanity over conflict.

We believe the future is peace. 🌍
