After an outstanding 44 years of teaching at St Benedict's, we're delighted to celebrate Dicky Thomas as he retires from the classroom.

Dicky has inspired generations of students during an extraordinary career, and we're pleased that this isn't farewell. He will continue to play an important role in our community as Old Priorian Alumni Ambassador, helping to strengthen connections with our alumni and support the exciting future of the OPA.

Dicky shared:

"After a teaching career of 44 years at St Benedict's, I am delighted that I now have the opportunity to maintain my connection with the school by taking on this new role with the OPA. I greatly look forward to engaging with OPs and ensuring that they remain highly valued members of the school community as we embark on an exciting future."

Please join us in wishing Dicky every success in this exciting new chapter.

We are delighted to celebrate an outstanding set of A Level results, with the Class of 2026 achieving the school’s strongest ever overall performance, excluding the Covid years.

Across more than 350 A Levels, 53% of grades were A* or A, while 82% were A*, A or B — reflecting the talent, determination and ambition of this exceptional year group.

The vast majority of students have secured their preferred university destinations, with students taking up places at leading institutions including Oxford, St Andrews, King’s College London, LSE, Durham, Bristol, Warwick, Manchester and Bath.

Headmaster Joe Smith said: “We are all absolutely delighted with the results achieved by the wonderful St Benedict’s Class of 2026. They represent an improvement on last year’s results and, excluding the Covid years, the school’s best-ever A Level results.”

Congratulations to all our 2026 leavers — and welcome to the St Benedict’s OP community!🎓🌟
