A Restorative Retreat for Black Women Educators

Friday 6th March 2026

We’re creating a soft, affirming, identity‑centred space for Black women educators to rest, reflect, and reconnect with themselves and each other.
A day of wellness, community, joy, and professional nourishment - curated with intention and care.

This year, we’ll also hear from a renowned Black female educator, sharing insights that speak directly to our lived experience, leadership journeys, and the realities of working in UK schools.

The retreat aligns with whole‑school CPD priorities, including:
Staff wellbeing and retention
Identity‑affirming professional practice
Reflective leadership
Creating psychologically safe learning and working environments

Dear Black Teachers,

As exam and course results are released, we recognise not only our students’ journeys, but also your steadfast presence in the classroom and beyond.

Your residence in these spaces is more than symbolic — it is transformational. You stand as advocates in the background and champions in the foreground. You hold the line when students are weary, you affirm when they feel unseen, and you open doors that once seemed closed. Because of you, countless young people discover that their dreams are possible, that their voices matter, and that their brilliance is undeniable.

We know the road is not always easy. You carry more than lesson plans; you carry hope, representation, and care that changes lives. You model excellence, resilience, and joy. You remind students — through words, actions, and your very presence — that they belong in every room they enter.

On results day, we celebrate not just grades on a page, but the immeasurable impact of your labour of love. For every student who dared to persevere because you believed in them, we say thank you.
