From patient to volunteer 💙🩷

After being treated for a stroke at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in 2017, Lynn returned to the hospital as a ward volunteer.

Now she supports and encourages patients through their own recovery, while drawing strength and inspiration from the connections she makes.

Today is National Poetry Day. ✍️

As part of our Arts for All programme, Writer in Residence Rebecca Goss worked with patients in the Haematology and Oncology Day Unit at West Middlesex University Hospital.

Using poetry, Rebecca encouraged conversation, creativity and reflection during treatment, helping to create moments of connection and self-expression. 💙

Now, some of the poetry created through the project will become a permanent part of the new Diagnostic, Treatment and Education Centre (DTEC), giving patients, staff and visitors the opportunity to engage with the work for years to come.

'It's a lifeline for us' 💙🩷

Jessica’s daughter Mirissa was born prematurely at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and remains under the care of various children’s services. In this video, Jessica describes how the hospital has been there for them over the years, and how the CW+ Arts in Health programme makes their many visits to hospital that little bit easier.
