Today at our community garden/farm in Bixley allotment, Abdul brought his family in to learn about growing their own food and also helped to harvest some berries, spinach, beans and cauliflower to take home and cook some delicious and healthy dinners.

We are now looking for volunteers and funders to make our garden/farm as easy to use for disabled people as it is for everyone else, please get in touch if you’d like to be part of this project.

Speaker Andrew Cunningham is an Energy Assessor and Retrofit Co-ordinator (expert in updating existing houses to be as energy efficient and futureproof as possible).
Thank you to the audience for asking questions.
Main topic of discussion centres around heat pumps, which will be replacing our boilers in the coming years.
Andrew works for a Heat Pump supplier, but there are many other suppliers out there, and as always you should always shop around for the best price and service.

This weekend we supported Earthwatch with their growing Tiny Forest in Southall Recreation Ground, where families engaged in fun activities and scientific experiments. Thank you to parents for braving the changing weather. We definitely inspired some future Scientists.

We are helping Earth-watch Europe hold a free event for our local community on the 15th June.
All are welcome, please register to help them know how many people to expect, but you can show up on the day.

We are celebrating Earth Day 2024 🌍🎉
We will be holding free fun family activities and providing healthy food and drinks. Whilst screening a film about award winning scientist Vindana Shiva who has stood up to the Agriculture corporations who destroy the vital ecological systems that support us.

Please get in touch to let us know you’re coming so that we can prepare enough food for anyone (open to food and drink requests), and not waste anything.

The main purpose of the event is to meet members of the community to share knowledge and collaborate on how to make Southall a healthier and more resilient place to live.
Past ideas have been edible gardens/urban farms, Southall only currency, and a Southall energy company, all ideas are welcome.

At this years Nagar Kirtan we set up a stall outside The Holy Trinity Church to share knowledge and information about the work we do and how important it is for our community.
