Live music not only helps the mental health of patients and care home residents, but benefits families, friends and staff. The music is just as much for them as the patients and residents we visit. Anna, a well-loved member of Bridgeside Lodge’s housekeeping staff, says that ‘Hearing the music every day, even as you go about your work, as you’re getting in and out of the lift, you find yourself humming along. Even if you don’t realise it, hearing the music puts a smile on your face’.

This week had two firsts for us at The Spitz!

We visited Cedars Care Centre for the first time, and two of the newest musicians in our team played there: Anna Jaichner (singing) and Connor James (on guitar). 🎤🎸

On top of this, it was resident May’s birthday, which we celebrated in style with music and friends. We’d like to give special thanks to activities co-ordinator Kaye, and all of the staff for looking after us and making us feel so welcome. 🎂
