Our Story
What: The London School of Economics Model United Nations Conference, or LSEMUN for short, is a conference with a twist: it simulates fast paced crises. Delegates will be given a role in a nation's or organisation's cabinet and will deal with domestic and international issues in real time, competing with different delegates in different cabinets along the way. Who: Any university student can participate. Delegations will mostly be coming from UK universities but applications outside the UK are also being targeted and more than welcome. We encourage universities to apply as a delegation through their UN Society but will also accept individual applications where there is only one delegate from a university wishing to participate. LSEMUN is striving to widen participation among all students regardless of previous experience, by introducing a few different crisis modes, beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Why: Diplomacy, national governance, political wrangling, war: all of these will be faced by delegates, as part of a flexible and evolving crisis coordinated by staff behind the scenes. The London Security Exercise offers intense and engaging debate, allowing delegates to move their cabinet in whichever way they desire.
