Manor Gardens Welfare Trust

Manor Gardens Welfare Trust Manor Gardens promoted physical and mental wellbeing to deprived and vulnerable people in Islington, North London. Registered charity number 1063053.

Manor Gardens is a health and wellbeing charity based in Finsbury Park Ward, the most deprived ward in Islington. Our mission is to relieve needs arising from sickness, disability and old age, to promote mental and physical good health and to promote social inclusion.

• We promote physical and mental wellbeing to the most deprived and vulnerable people in Islington by training local residents to

cook and eat healthy meals and adopt healthier lifestyles.
• Our Friendship Network matches befriending volunteers with isolated older people
• Bilingual volunteers support people from newly arrived communities to access health care
• We rehabilitate people who’ve had a stroke through our stroke club
• Our volunteer Mental Wellbeing Champions raise awareness about mental wellbeing and break down taboos.
• Our Preschool gives children aged 2-5 a better start in life. We have a small staff of 19 full and part-time workers. We work with over 250 local volunteers at any one time throughout the year. We made a difference to 7,371 beneficiaries last year and over 2,000 people a week come through the doors of the centre. Manor Gardens works in partnership with voluntary and statutory services across the Borough. We provide low-cost office space to several Islington NHS services including iCope and Growing Together, plus a range of therapeutic charities and practices. www.manorgardenscentre.org
