The East London JKA Karate Club provides lesson to all grades at locations in Plaistow Newham and Dagenham , we are affiliated to the Japan Karate Association, “Keepers of Karate’s highest traditions”, the club aspires to make it’s mark in these boroughs with it’s own unique training programmes extracted from the strict JKA England syllabus.

An exceptional 3 days of training at the JKA England International Spring Course with Osaka Sensei 🇯🇵, Imamura Sensei 🇯🇵, Nemoto Sensei 🇯🇵, Sawada Sensei 🇧🇪, and Ohta Sensei 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿.

The weekend concluded with four of our students and our club’s head instructor successfully passing their grading. Massive Congratulations to:

Huge congratulations to our students who passed their grading last weekend.🥋

A fantastic session led by the Head Coach for JKAE England Squad, Sensei Dave Paulus. Sensei’s feedback was positive and that standard was good overall.

Everyone showed great focus and determination. Proud of you all! 👏

🏆 JKAE London and Southeast Regional Championships 2026🏆

Another great event organised by JKAE with over 300 competitors. The day ran smoothly and was enjoyed by all.

Our little squad fought hard with some great results:

- Denas 4th Place - kata

- Elle 🥇 kata 🥇kumite (maintaining her title of Regional Kumite Champion)

- Kanchan 🥉 kata 🥉kumite

- Gina 4th place kata 🥇kumite (reigning Veterans Regional Kumite Champion)

Finally a special mention to our junior students, some of who compete for the first time. 🌟 You showed amazing courage and did the club proud.

A great weekend for our students and all who attended the JKA England International Winter Course, training with visiting instructors Ueda Sensei 🇯🇵, Taniyama Sensei 🇯🇵 and World Champion, Hakizume Sensei 🇯🇵🏆

Our England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Squad members were also lucky to benefit from extra tailored sessions. We are truly privileged to train with these elite instructors. Thank you JKA England for organising another great event.

We were privileged to join Stratford Karate Club in a fantastic Training Camp and Grading with Sensei Bianca last Sunday. Well done to all who graded too.

Well done to all our students who graded today under Ohta Sensei. It was a tough day given the heat, but everyone put their best foot forward, and worked really hard, achieving great results.

Sensei Claire also collected her award for Outstanding Achievement Senior Female at the recent JKA England National Championships.

Great way to start the Summer.
