Apple Day Planning

Do you remember our wonderful Apple Days in Chinbrook Meadows orchard? Let's do it again! We had to cancel last year's event as there weren't enough volunteers to run everything and oversee all the activities but we would really love to do it again this year. Some of the same ingredients - live music, apple pressing, apple tasting, apple-related games, refreshments and more....

FOCM General Meeting in March

Thursday 5th March from 7-9pm will be the first meeting of the year for Friends of Chinbrook Meadows. It will take place at The Ringway Centre, Baring Road, SE12 0DS. The main agenda items are as follows; Follow up on refurbishment of park toilets Playground development ideas Trees and other maintenance issues Rental e-bikes and litter Anyone interested in the park is welcome to come along. Come and share your concerns and ideas.

Fowlers Molly Dancers joined us once again to create a magical Wassail at and at . With Grove Park Singers to wassail us when the parade reached the centre. Moving into the warmth of the community centre we had craft activities, refreshments and more singing and dancing. Thanks to all our volunteers who made it such a great event.

Volunteering in the park

We have worked in three different areas of the park over the last three months. We tackled an overgrown boardwalk in October with an opportunity (when it wasn't raining!) to pond dip and look at water-life under the microscope. Our local councillors, Mark and Hilary, helped out with a litter pick. They were still smiling at the end despite being very wet!!...
