FOCM General Meeting in March

Thursday 5th March from 7-9pm will be the first meeting of the year for Friends of Chinbrook Meadows. It will take place at The Ringway Centre, Baring Road, SE12 0DS. The main agenda items are as follows; Follow up on refurbishment of park toilets Playground development ideas Trees and other maintenance issues Rental e-bikes and litter Anyone interested in the park is welcome to come along. Come and share your concerns and ideas.

Fowlers Molly Dancers joined us once again to create a magical Wassail at and at . With Grove Park Singers to wassail us when the parade reached the centre. Moving into the warmth of the community centre we had craft activities, refreshments and more singing and dancing. Thanks to all our volunteers who made it such a great event.

Volunteering in the park

We have worked in three different areas of the park over the last three months. We tackled an overgrown boardwalk in October with an opportunity (when it wasn't raining!) to pond dip and look at water-life under the microscope. Our local councillors, Mark and Hilary, helped out with a litter pick. They were still smiling at the end despite being very wet!!...

The team of 16 volunteers made a big impact on the pond near Chinbrook Rd today, excavating mud and debris so that the water lasts longer into the spring and summer. Great work with Froglife and Natures Gym

Upgraded amphibian residence coming soon!

The pond near the Chinbrook Road park entrance continues to get silted up despite our volunteers' best efforts. This year we have help from Froglife and Natures Gym volunteers on 4th December. Come and join us and help make our park even better for wildlife
