*The divine Will and decree (Al-qadr)*
This is one of the six pillars of Eman
Allah’s knowledge encompasses everything, every matter, major or minor, and the time frame of everything that happens in this universe, SubhanaAllah!
When we go through any difficulties in life, like loss of a loved one, we should immediately remember this pillar , The divine Will and decree. Allah subhanaallah wataala has decided when to bring us into existence and when to take us. Let us prepare our minds with this.
And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses...” [Quran 28:68]
Muslims believe that when a human being dies, their soul returns to their creator, awaiting the Day Of Judgement. In Islam, we can take solace in knowing that we will be united with those we love, and that death is just the beginning of the journey to our permanent home in the afterlife.
The proper belief in al-Qadar brings about tranquillity and peace of mind. The person realizes that everything that occurs is according to Allah’s Divine Decree.
Furthermore, there is a wisdom behind everything Allah does. Hence, if the person loses a beloved or something of this world, he does not go insane, despair, or give up hope.
Instead, he realizes that such was the will of Allah that he must accept. He must also realize that such has occurred for a purpose. It did not occur haphazardly or accidentally, without any reason behind it. Allah has said, “No calamity befalls on the earth or in yourselves but it is inscribed in the Book [of Decrees] before We bring it into existence. Verily, that is easy for Allah. In order that you may not be sad over matters that you fail to achieve, nor rejoice because of that which has been given to you. And Allah likes not prideful boasters” (57:22-23).
You can grieve as much as you want but dont hold on for too long. You will not be able to breathe or take take the next step. Learn to let go by remembering Qadr, Allahs decree,
say I submit to your will ya Allah, give me strength ya Allah !
Losing a loved one can be an experience like no other. Heartbreak, a feeling of emptiness, or of despair are all common reactions to the loss of a loved one, and while we are discouraged from supressing our grief, we are warned away from feelings of despair, for they can be self-destructive during a period of grief. As Muslims, our bodies have a right over us, and it is our duty to take care of our hearts, our souls, minds, and bodies the best we can throughout all matters.
Move on, remember your loved ones in your duas daily.
Practise Khalwa (seclusion) with Allah (SWT) is used to describe a mental or physical state where you are with Allah (SWT) in worship and contemplation. Doing so can bring great solace to someone who is grieving.
Do simple but continuous acts of charity on their behalf, e.g, distribution of water, food, milk, bread, iftar saim, build a water well, distribute Quran, wheelchairs, Donations e.t.c
Do not hold on to their belongings, let go distribute to the needy the cloths, shoes e.t.c with intention of him/her to be rewarded.
Remember Always its the divine Decree and we submit to Allahs Qadr no matter what, this can be pondered with almost everything thats goes around our lives.
Ya Allah enable us to accept your decree in difficult moments ya rabbi !
