R.I.S.E PLEASE LEAVE SOUTHALL by Sukhi Floria
Hi All,
Keighley
Since R.I.S.E have opened up in Southall, all hell has broken loose in our town. I’m not sure whose bright idea this was, to open up a druggie centre in Southall Town Hall, but for the last 3 weeks things have become worse.
Our community group has been inundated with calls, and we have had to calm the situation down so that things do not get out of hand, hence why I am sending this email.
Here is a daily breakdown of what Southall residents have to go through on a daily basis:
• Drug takers using the alleyway to openly defecate while mothers and young children are walking to school (St Joseph’s Drive).
• Increase in shoplifting taking place, police simply not interested (impacting local businesses and leading to loss of revenue).
• Open drug taking outside schools, including injecting (residents and kids are impacted). This is taking place on Villiers Rd, Avenue Rd, Cambridge Rd, Beresford Rd — pretty much every surrounding area.
• Violent street muggings (attacks and robberies against our elderly).
• Not to mention the anti-social behaviour that has also increased.
Before things get out of hand, I would suggest that you and the people named on this thread take this as a major concern.
In a nutshell, the residents have had enough. A possible solution would be to relocate R.I.S.E to:
Perceval House, 14/16 Uxbridge Road, Ealing W5 2HL.
The residents were NOT consulted, and it looks like the Southall Labour Cllrs signed this off without informing the residents.
Can you also confirm when you will be leaving so that we can inform our residents?
Police matters ()
We have seen no police relating to the above points, and this needs to change.
No one needs your data insights, as we all have eyes that still function, and we can inform you that there are no police patrols. You are equally guilty of turning a blind eye while the crime continues.
Your officers need to get out of Southall Station and increase patrols around the above-mentioned roads. There are zero excuses not to do so, as our council tax pays for the police, and if you don’t have resources then take it up with your superiors.
