R.I.S.E PLEASE LEAVE SOUTHALL by Sukhi Floria
Hi All,
Keighley
Since R.I.S.E have opened up in Southall, all hell has broken loose in our town. I’m not sure whose bright idea this was, to open up a druggie centre in Southall Town Hall, but for the last 3 weeks things have become worse.
Our community group has been inundated with calls, and we have had to calm the situation down so that things do not get out of hand, hence why I am sending this email.
Here is a daily breakdown of what Southall residents have to go through on a daily basis:
• Drug takers using the alleyway to openly defecate while mothers and young children are walking to school (St Joseph’s Drive).
• Increase in shoplifting taking place, police simply not interested (impacting local businesses and leading to loss of revenue).
• Open drug taking outside schools, including injecting (residents and kids are impacted). This is taking place on Villiers Rd, Avenue Rd, Cambridge Rd, Beresford Rd — pretty much every surrounding area.
• Violent street muggings (attacks and robberies against our elderly).
• Not to mention the anti-social behaviour that has also increased.
Before things get out of hand, I would suggest that you and the people named on this thread take this as a major concern.
In a nutshell, the residents have had enough. A possible solution would be to relocate R.I.S.E to:
Perceval House, 14/16 Uxbridge Road, Ealing W5 2HL.
The residents were NOT consulted, and it looks like the Southall Labour Cllrs signed this off without informing the residents.
Can you also confirm when you will be leaving so that we can inform our residents?
Police matters ()
We have seen no police relating to the above points, and this needs to change.
No one needs your data insights, as we all have eyes that still function, and we can inform you that there are no police patrols. You are equally guilty of turning a blind eye while the crime continues.
Your officers need to get out of Southall Station and increase patrols around the above-mentioned roads. There are zero excuses not to do so, as our council tax pays for the police, and if you don’t have resources then take it up with your superiors.

Hi Councillor Dhindsa, our walkabout was very productive today (28/5/2026). I am pleased that you will report and take ownership of the following required repairs.
1) The wicket nearest Tatchbrook Road entrance needs repairing. The other wicket has been repaired with patches.
2) The multi use games areas (MUGAs) all need resurfacing and relining for football and basketball. The low fences need to be raised or the spectators' backrests need to be removed to prevent accidental collisions caused by children falling over the fence. The dead bird needs to be removed.
3) The two swings and presumably a basket swing in the children's playground need to be replaced. These have been missing for months and were reported a few months ago by a local resident.
The broken gate catches and the broken fence nearest to the Common needs repairing.
4) The TV screen in front of the exercise equipment doesn't appear to be working.
5) The bins are too small and should be replaced with larger bins and emptied daily. Virtually every bin was overflowing and the Greener Ealing staff had such a large job it is unlikely that they will be able to visit the other parks on their schedule today.
I look forward to receiving progress reports from you and the name of Chris Bunting's (Assistant Director of Leisure) replacement. I do hope that we can meet again soon.

Impending Travel Chaos in Southall
From the middle of June, Affinity Water is doing roadworks on Southall Broadway for 14 weeks. This business district raises significant revenue for the council, yet Councillors Kamaljit Nagpal and Shahbaz Ahmed have failed to reply to an email sent by a representative for the traders. Understandably, they are concerned about the financial impact and residents are concerned by impending traffic chaos and disruption to bus services. Will Deirdre follow in the footsteps of her colleagues and ignore emails on the roadworks? 🤔

Award winning journalist Mobeen Azhar's investigation into fly-tipping in Southall aired on Morning Live on 11/5/2026. In response, Councillor Kamaljit Dhindsa wants to arrange another walkabout of Southall Green. He should watch the documentary and propose viable solutions to the fly-tipping epidemic.

I wasn't elected but I will continue to represent the community as a member of Southall Green Safer Neighbourhood Team ward panel and I will continue to request that an invitation is sent by the chair of Southall Broadway Safer Neighbourhood Team ward panel, for my colleague Joe Bhangu to join. I will still campaign for residents through the Southall Residents' Alliance WhatsApp group. if you would like to join, here is the link; https://chat.whatsapp.com/JPRGz1AIdTdJeGTdfPICqJ
In the pipeline will be a meeting for residents. Watch me on BBC Morning Live on 11/5/2026 at 9.30am being interviewed about fly-tipping in Southall. Collective action will keep the pressure on the councillors to residents in their wards.

Ealing Rubbish Crisis: Vote for Change

Overflowing bins on West End are increasing the rat population! Waste Enforcement are nowhere to be seen. Residents who experience this nightmare will be voting for the Ealing Community Independents candidates as they are frustrated by Labour's failure to deal with businesses who allow the bins to become vehicles parked on the road and overfill them to the extent that the lids remain open.

Ealing Labour has Palestinian blood on its hands. The call for the divestment of pension funds from weapons companies who supply Israel is growing louder. Vote for the Ealing Community Independents candidates on 7th May who support the call for divestment.

Southall's Shocking Truth: It's Time For Change!
Sufiyan is a campaigner and started at a young age whilst still at Featherstone High School. He experienced the impact of air pollution from the Green Quarter Gasworks on his health and the failure of the Labour councillors to take seriously residents' concerns about the noxious fumes which hung over Southall like a thick blanket. Sufi tells young people perhaps voting for the first time, who are disenchanted with Labour not to waste their votes on the Greens who haven't campaigned or even leafleted locally but to vote for the Ealing Community Independents candidates instead. People who are rooted in the community and grounded in activism.
