Earlier this week, we were joined by Women of Reform Judaism's tour to London, who visited the recently-opened Lily Montagu Reading Room and sat down for a lunch with our student rabbis.

WRJ have been supporting Leo Baeck College through their YES Fund, allowing us to deliver interactive programming at the Lily Montagu Reading Room.

Reflecting on this day, LBC Principal, Rabbi Professor Deborah Kahn-Harris said: “We were thrilled to host Women of Reform Judaism's tour to London at Leo Baeck College on Monday.

LBC's relationship with WRJ goes back many decades, most recently their support for projects in the Lily Montagu Reading Room. We enjoyed deepening our relationship with WRJ members, showing them around the Sternberg Centre site, an in depth dive into the LBC Library collections in the Reading Room, and a special lunch with students as well.

We look forward to continuing to grow our relationship in order to strengthen our joint commitment to world-wide Progressive Judaism.”

She brought with her the gifts of song, dance, vision, righteous anger, hydration, healing and hope.” – writes Yael Tischler in her last d’var Torah as an LBC Rabbinical Student ahead of her Ordination.

Join us in wishing a very hearty mazal tov to LBC Alum, Prof Rabbi Dr David Meyer, on being awarded the 2026 Seelisberg Prize

Prof Rabbi Dr David Meyer, who was ordained by LBC in 1997, has been selected by the International Council of Christians and Jews [ICCJ] as the recipient of the 2026 Seelisberg Prize.

In their press release, ICCJ stated that: “As part of the opening event of the ICCJ international conference in Hanover on Sunday, July 12, Prof Rabbi Dr David Meyer will be awarded the 2026 Seelisberg Prize.

The Seelisberg Prize is named in memory of the ground-breaking gathering that occurred in the small Swiss village of Seelisberg from 30 July to 5 August 1947 to address perennial Christian teachings of contempt for Jews and Judaism. It issued the very influential "A Call to the Churches: The Ten Points of Seelisberg" which is widely recognized as inaugurating the transformation in relations between Jews and Christians that has unfolded over the past seventy years.”

For more information about this prestigious award, and Prof Rabbi Dr Meyer’s contributions to interfaith dialogue, please head over to the ICCJ website for the full press release: https://www.iccj.org/article/david-meyer-to-be-awarded-2026-seelisberg-prize.html
