African Heritage is the host organisation providing a platform for over 100 Community Partner organisations taking part in the African Heritage Festival (AHF). The AHF is a celebration of the diversity of African history , culture and the African peoples quest for liberation over the centuries. All the various African cultures from Africa, the UK, Caribbean, north and South America, the Pacific an
d Asia, AHF is a Celebration of culture, food, dance, games, music, theatre, poetry, education, and business. African Heritage is so significant that it has impacted every nation and every individual in the world. Thus the AHF invites everyone in the world to learn how beautiful, how magnificent, how important and how relevant to them African heritage is. This is important for social cohesion especially in a great multicultural country like the UK. The AHF is always held in Trafalgar Square and the North terrace outside the National Portrait Gallery, because of Trafalgar Square’s great significance. The AHF has a main stage by Nelson’s Column that headlines with internationally renowned musical bands and Singers. Internationally renowned keynote speakers, MPs, diplomats from Embassies associated with the AHF, speakers from the African Union, European Union, United Nations, the TUC and other trade unions, prominent Scholars etc
There are five other mini stages housed within large marques features such things as the great exhibition where organisations such as Westminster archives, Imperial war museum Black cultural archives and the anti slavery society combine to put on a great exhibition of 2D and 3D art, sculptures, photography, TV footage etc. The other mini stages will have the other community organisations putting on dance shows, fashion shows, live debates, bouncy castles, poetry and talent shows etc Food from all over the world will be sold from catering vans and food stalls.
