Menstrual Hygiene Management Outreach
-Government Secondary School, Gboko.

On the 13th of March, we had the privilege of carrying out a Menstrual Hygiene Management Outreach at Government Secondary School, Gboko.

In the spirit of Valentine’s season, we chose to celebrate love in a different but powerful way by showing love through education, care and empowerment.

We engaged the girls in honest conversations about menstrual health, hygiene practices, body awareness, and self-confidence. We reminded them that menstruation is natural, normal and nothing to be ashamed of. Every girl deserves accurate information, access to sanitary products and the confidence to manage her period with dignity. It was inspiring to see their curiosity, courage, and eagerness to learn.

Because true love is action, we shared pads and also paid the school fees of seven student and presented the receipts to the vice principal.

Empowering a girl child is one of the purest forms of love.

Growing up without parental guidance and care can shape a girl child’s emotional world in profound and lasting ways. The absence of consistent love, protection, and direction often creates silent battles that she must fight alone.

From an early age, she may struggle with feelings of abandonment. Watching other children being comforted, encouraged, or corrected by their parents can deepen a sense of being unwanted or forgotten. She may quietly ask herself questions like, “Why wasn’t I enough?” or “Did I do something wrong?” These unanswered questions can grow into deep-seated self-doubt.

Without parental affirmation, her self-esteem may suffer. Parents often act as mirrors, reflecting a child’s worth and potential. In their absence, she may search for validation elsewhere — from peers, teachers, or even strangers. This search can sometimes make her vulnerable to unhealthy relationships, as she may cling to anyone who offers even a small measure of attention or affection.

A lack of guidance can also create confusion about identity. Parents typically help shape values, boundaries, and a sense of belonging. Without that anchor, she may feel lost when making decisions about friendships, education, or personal goals. She might grow up too quickly, forced to become independent before she is emotionally ready, carrying responsibilities that overshadow her childhood.

Emotionally, she may develop trust issues. If the very people meant to protect and nurture her are absent or unreliable, trusting others can feel risky. She may build emotional walls, appearing strong and self-sufficient on the outside while feeling deeply lonely inside.

There is also the weight of unprocessed grief. Even if her parents are physically alive but emotionally unavailable, she may grieve the relationship she never had. This silent grief can manifest as anger, withdrawal, anxiety, or depression.

Yet, alongside these challenges, many girls in such circumstances develop remarkable resilience. They often learn independence, empathy, and strength at a young age. However, resilience does not erase the pain — it simply means she has learned to survive despite it.

Ultimately, a girl child growing up without parental guidance and care faces not only the challenge of navigating the world, but also the challenge of understanding her own worth without the foundational love that every child deserves.

This might just be the reason for Mirabel’s actions….from everything said and heard, she really needs help and we are highly interested in this kind peoples🤗

A girl child is not a promise for tomorrow—she is power today. 🌱
In her curiosity lives innovation, in her courage lives change, and in her voice lives a future that refuses to be small. When a girl is educated, supported, and believed in, she doesn’t just rise—she lifts families, communities, and generations with her.

Teach her she is enough.
Show her she belongs.
Watch her change the world. 💫
