Yesterday's paddle boarding trip funded by Jack Petchey Foundation marked the final activity of our summer program.
It's kind of sad it's over as we had really formed a family meeting up every day and having fun.
We had 136 young people attend over the four weeks with on average around 40 per day.
It was very rewarding to see young people initially very nervous as they didn't know anyone or didn't want to get wet soon making friends and up to their necks in a lake!
The power of youth work is it gives young people a space where they have access to sympathetic adults, and are exposed to a wide range of experiences and ideas whilst all the time coming together, making friends and gaining a sense of belonging.
We will be back in September and are looking forward to our move into the Hive in October!
If you are looking for other activities over the summer check out local youth centres such as PowerStation Youth Centre and Heatham House
