The Foundation has been created to relieve suffering from leg ulcers and associated conditions through the implementation of an award winning model that motivates and empowers patients to take ownership of their care, alleviate their suffering and reduce the stigma attached to their condition. It also seeks to further advance education in all aspects of leg health among sufferers, carers, the general public and the healthcare professions.

An emotional and memorable moment at the WUWHS Gala Dinner brought Prof. Ellie Lindsay OBE together with Donna Nair, who supported the Daylesford Leg Club in Victoria, Australia, for many years.

Donna shared that attending the Leg Club was the highlight of her week, reflecting the meaningful connections, friendship and sense of community at the heart of the Leg Club ethos.

Although miles apart, the Leg Club family remains connected through compassion, shared experiences and a commitment to person-centred care. 💚

🌟 A Bright Morning at Pretty Pins Leg Club 🌟
On 1 October, Lindsay Leg Club Foundation Trustee Gavin Dummett visited Pretty Pins Leg Club in Crickhowell.

It was wonderful to see the dedicated nursing team and volunteers working together with care, professionalism and a strong commitment to the Leg Club ethos. The session was calm and well organised, with clear rolesand excellent clinical practice throughout the morning.

The nursing team provided high-quality care, while volunteers offered a warm welcome, refreshments and friendly support, helping to create a positive and welcoming environment for members. 💙
Pretty Pins Leg Club has a strong foundation, a capable team and a real commitment to continuing to develop and enhance the Leg Club experience.

🌟 A Heartwarming Visit to Only Legs Aloud Leg Club

On 24 September, Trustee Gavin Dummett visited Only Legs Aloud Leg Club in Llanidloes, experiencing the warmth, friendship and community spirit at the heart of the Leg Club ethos. 💙

The visit also celebrated the retirement of Mel Dooley, a dedicated district nurse whose kindness and commitment have made a lasting difference to the club and its members. 🌷

With a dedicated nurse-led team and wonderful volunteers, Only Legs Aloud continues to thrive as a welcoming and vibrant community hub.

✨ A New Role in Advocacy for Prof. Ellie Lindsay OBE 🌍

Prof. Ellie Lindsay OBE has been nominated and duly elected as President of the Advocacy Section of ISPeW – the International Society for Neonatal and Pediatric Wound Healing.

Ellie shared how deeply honoured and privileged she feels to serve as a Board Member and represent advocacy, a cause that is genuinely close to her heart. She is especially grateful to be working alongside such an exceptional group of professionals whose dedication, compassion and shared sense of purpose continue to inspire.

At the recent ISPeW Symposium, Ellie was also delighted to serve as Chair and Co-Chair alongside Dr Joyce Barrantes (Costa Rica), who presented on the importance of negative pressure therapy in paediatric wound care.

Congratulations to Prof. Ellie Lindsay OBE on this important new role. We wish her every success as she continues to champion advocacy, collaboration and positive change in neonatal and paediatric wound healing. 💙

WUWHS 2026 brought together wound care professionals from around the world, providing valuable opportunities to share knowledge, exchange experiences and connect with colleagues across different disciplines.

Prof. Ellie Lindsay OBE was delighted to meet vascular surgeon Dr Jayant Dashrath Jadhav during the congress.

🌿 A lovely afternoon celebrating volunteers at Nailsea Leg Club! 💙

Nailsea Leg Club were delighted to be invited to a special garden party hosted by the Lord Lieutenant of Somerset at the beautiful Marston House in Frome, in recognition of the invaluable contribution volunteers make to their local charities.

Representing Nailsea Leg Club, Carole Brooke and Judith Brown enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of afternoon tea, inspiring speeches and presentations of The King’s Award, as well as the opportunity to connect and network with others from the local community.

With beautiful views across the valley and plenty of delicious treats, it was a truly enjoyable occasion — and a wonderful way to celebrate the dedication and commitment of volunteers.

We only wish all of our wonderful volunteers could have been there to enjoy it too! 💙

Congratulations to Jacqui Fletcher OBE and Prof. Guido Ciprandi on receiving the prestigious WUWHS 2026 Fellowship Award — a wonderful recognition of their contributions and dedication to wound care.

We also extend our warmest congratulations to Prof. Guido Ciprandi on becoming President of ISPeW. We look forward to seeing his leadership and continued commitment to advancing paediatric wound care.

During WUWHS 2026, Prof. Ellie Lindsay OBE had the pleasure of meeting Aiwei Foster, an endorsed Nurse Practitioner specializing in wound and lymphoedema care, who chaired Prof. Ellie's presentation.

Entitled “Working Together Globally to Close Gaps in Lower-Limb Care,” the presentation explored the importance of collaboration, shared expertise and global partnerships in addressing gaps in lower-limb wound care.

It was wonderful to connect with colleagues who share a commitment to improving wound and lymphoedema care worldwide. 🌏

✨ A wonderful start to WUWHS 2026 in Kuala Lumpur!

Yesterday marked the pre-conference programme, with society meetings, presentations and engaging sessions bringing wound care professionals together from around the world.

We were delighted to be part of this exciting programme and to connect with colleagues as WUWHS 2026 got underway.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined the sessions, shared their knowledge and contributed to the discussions. It was a wonderful opportunity to exchange ideas, share experiences and highlight the importance of collaboration and person-centred care. 💙
