Lots of new faces, funnel duckers and actual ducks! 🦆

There were 1138 of you running, jogging and walking in the sun at Battersea parkrun, including 116 first ever parkrunners! 🌞

We hope you enjoyed your first parkrun and see you next week🌳

Thanks to our epic volunteers - there were 41 of them this week! Welcome to Gemma who volunteered for the first time 🦺

A reminder of a few house rules please: dogs cannot be used on waist harnesses at parkrun. We will stop you if we spot you! 🐶

Dogs are very welcome but it must be one per person on a short, hand-held lead. You cannot run with a dog AND a buggy 🛺

We also lost quite a few tokens which are expensive to replace so please do just drop them back in the buckets after scanning 🎟️

Finally, funnel ducking makes results processing longer for us after parkrun - it’s a max 5 minute wait and it really helps us out 📢

Happy birthday to Beth, Christina and Colin who were all celebrating in the best way possible at parkrun 🎉

There were 224 PBs and this week’s milestones:

2️⃣5️⃣ George Clements, Natasha Tinsley, Tom Vos, Sam Griffith, Seng Jea Lee, Jodie Freeman, Hengchang Cao 🟣

5️⃣0️⃣ Christian Smith, Cordelia Sigurdsson, Joanna Light, Jessica Bartos, Angel Chu 🔴

1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ Jacob Teulon‑Byom, Ian Brown ⚫️

If you’d like to volunteer next week drop us an email - [email protected]. We’d love to hear from you 💖

Please do bring your old trainers along on Saturday to Battersea!

Everyday exercise is one of the simplest ways to stay healthy 👟 💕

But for many people in the UK, even getting active is a challenge without the right shoes.

That’s why, with the help of Vitality UK, we’re calling on all Battersea parkrunners 📣 to donate their pre‑loved sports shoes to someone who may need them.

To say thanks, you could even get £10 off your next SportsShoes.com order of in-season gear when you donate*.

👀 Look out for a Vitality Give2Move station at Battersea parkrun on Saturday 2 May to get involved. Together let’s help more people get moving 🕺

*£10 discount when you spend £50 or more on all in-season products on SportsShoes.com website. This will be provided in the form of a promotional code after the event with T&Cs.

A reminder that we’re cancelled tomorrow at Battersea due to the London Marathon shake-out run happening tonight!

Plenty of other options available including Clapham, Fulham, Wimbledon, Brockwell, Burgess and Tooting.

We’ll be back next week where Vitality will be with us:

Got a spare pair of running shoes? Put them to good use

Vitality are calling on all parkrunners to donate their pre‑loved sports shoes at Battersea parkrun on Saturday 2 May!

To say thanks, you can pick up a £10 SportsShoes.com voucher on the day!

Good luck to everyone running the Marathon!

The sun was out for a perfect parkrun morning in Battersea Park today 🌞

There were 1161 of you running, jogging and walking round the park, including 85 of you doing your first ever parkrun - welcome! 🌳

Massive thanks to our 40 fab volunteers and Run Director Pat for delivering another polished and safe parkrun for everyone 🦺

We sadly had more than 10 token magpies out there today. They’re not souvenirs and cost us time/money to replace - please leave them in the big orange buckets once you’ve got your barcodes scanned 🪣

This week there were 228 PBs and lots of milestones:

2️⃣5️⃣ Charlie Bone, Christopher Economou, Michael Kavanagh, Guy Leathley, Carys Oshea, Emma Croft, Katie Mallalieu, Qasim Zahid 🟣

5️⃣0️⃣ Fintan O’Hagan, Caitlin Lee, Richard Mendoza 🔴

1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ Dexter Haynes, Tamara Maggs ⚫️

2️⃣5️⃣0️⃣ Paul Prentice 🟢

Important reminder that we are cancelled next week (25/4) due to a London Marathon event taking place in the park 😢 - we’ll see you all back at Battersea on 2/5 for another epic parkrun 🤝

Lots of other parkrun options nearby to get your fix, including Clapham, Tooting, Fulham, Burgess, Brockwell and Wimbledon 🤗

See you all tomorrow morning parkrunners! 🌳

Were cancelled next week (25/4) due to a London Marathon event so get your parkrun fix tomorrow! 🌞

We can’t do it without volunteers! Give them some big old thanks as you go round tomorrow 💗

Let us know any milestones? Where you’re visiting from? Celebrating anything? And tag us in your pictures! 📸

The weather is looking good and sunny! 🌦️

Important for tomorrow - Albert Bridge remains closed. Please allow extra time. Back open for pedestrians/bikes!

Remember it’s a great time of year to try and introduce someone new to our parkrun! 🤝

Everyone is welcome at parkrun - it’s not a race so please do be courteous to everyone participating around you!

As usual you know the drill to keep the RD stress-free:

Pat is your Run Directors for tomorrow 🫡

Arrive by 8:45am ready for the briefing. Make sure you attend the First Timers Welcome if you’re new to parkrun or Battersea ⏰

Help us keep a clear channel free at our start area for other park users to walk through easily 🚧

Please stay off the grass, especially walking to the start 🌳

Keep left at all times when on the course 👈

Follow the instructions of our marshals at all times 🦺

Remember your barcode - register online and then bring it along either printed, on your watch or on your phone 📱

Please don’t duck out the funnel if you cross the line! 📢

Don’t take our tokens home - we lose around 5-10 minimum per week and it’s expensive to replace! 🪣

Gloomy skies and all the seasons at today’s parkrun! 🌦️

How did you all get on out there today?

Well done to the 1149 of you who made it out this morning, including 80 people doing their first ever parkrun 🤝

Special kudos to Run Director Veron and 42 fab volunteers who made it all possible. Welcome to Noah, Vivienne and Nicole 🦺

The stars aligned and Albert Bridge re-opened to pedestrians/bikes, and we got to see a brand new Albert Gate looking fresh 🥳

We’ll be back next week (18/4) before having a one week break (25/4) for the London Marathon so let’s see you all out next week!

We noticed a waist harness being used today with a dog. This is not allowed at parkrun (as made clear in our briefings) as it is dangerous. One dog person on a short, hand-held lead please at all times 🐶

There were 164 PBs today and this week’s milestones:

2️⃣5️⃣ Alex Davidian, Joseph Allcock, Marton Geda, Gabriel Newland, Luke Schreurs, John Cummings, Lucy Hall, Polly Jones, Arman Lapechi, Christie Roser, Olivia Galvin 🟣

5️⃣0️⃣ Chirag Desai, Miles Seavill 🔴

1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ Sophia Tucker ⚫️
