The assisted dying bill is "a beacon of hope for the terminally ill in this country".

Sir Graeme Catto is the former President and Chair of the General Medical Council. Like 75% of the public, he backs the bill because he knows that we have the evidence and the experience from around the world to change the law to allow safe, compassionate choice to dying people.

MPs must listen to experts like Sir Graeme - and vote for choice on the 11 September.

Legislation introducing assisted dying has been formally adopted in France.

Jurisdictions around the world are legalising choice at the end of life, responding to the will of their citizens and the harms of a blanket ban. It's time for a safe, fair and compassionate assisted dying law in the UK.

Sophie has stage four metastatic breast cancer and is allergic to opioids. She faces the prospect of a painful death without effective pain relief.

Palliative care has its limits. It cannot prevent suffering for everyone.

All Sophie wants is the comfort of knowing that she won't have to suffer when she dies.

MPs must uphold their democratic commitment to Sophie, to dying people, to us all - and back the assisted dying bill.

Jess Phillips MP, co-sponsor of the assisted dying bill, is unequivocal - at the moment, too many end-of-life decisions take place in the shadows, where it is too late to detect or prevent abuse.

In sharp contrast, the bill introduces proper scrutiny and accountability from the very start.

MPs must support safe, compassionate choice at the end of life - and back the assisted dying bill again.

Callum campaigns in memory of his mum, who died of cancer.

She was denied choice at the end of life - forced to suffer against her wishes, despite access to quality palliative care. All because of our cruel, outdated status quo.

Our loved ones deserve better - MPs must back the assisted dying bill and support a more compassionate society.

Simon Opher MP and Baroness Clare Gerada hit the nail on the head - we must strive to provide both world-class care and choice for terminally ill, mentally competent adults.
