Aikido is a non-violent and non-competitive Japanese martial art, pointing to a non-dualistic relationship where conflict ceases. Everyone is welcome (16+), regardless of gender or previous sports/martial arts experience. It is a great way to improve your fitness, coordination and confidence. Apart from free-hand practice, we use wooden weapons as well: staff ('jo' - about 4 ft long), sword ('boke

n' - the shape resembles a samurai sword) and knife ('tanto'). These help coordination and there are individual and partner forms with them. Session times and location:

Monday: 18:15-19:45
Saturday: 10:45-12:15

The Bede Centre is located very close to Bermonsdsey Tube Station, on the Jubilee Line. It is also a short bus or tube journey to London Bridge, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf.
