Hall open Thursdays-Saturdays, free gardens and cafe open Wednesdays-Sundays. Rainham Hall is open following a £2.5 million conservation project. This charming house is one of the country’s finest examples of an early 18th century merchant’s home. It is just two minutes’ walk from Rainham Station, in the heart of the village. Rainham Hall and the Community Gardens are open on Thursdays, Fridays an

d Saturdays with a handful of visiting slots. So we can safely manage visitor numbers please help us by booking your ticket in advance through our website. It’s a small Hall and garden, so there’ll be a one way route in place. For more information about opening times, events and facilities please head to our website. Rainham Hall has been home to a richly diverse cast of characters. With engaging installations and a year-round programme of exhibitions and events, there is something for all ages. We’ve drawn inspiration from their lives to tell some great stories, starting with Captain John Harle, who built the Hall. The hall is nestled in the heart of Rainham village on the far eastern fringes of London. Surrounded by a contrasting landscape of big skies, wild marshland and thriving industry, Rainham Hall has been quietly biding its time. Now, with the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund, Veolia North Thames Trust, Biffa Award and other generous supporters, we have restored and opened up this hidden piece of London’s history. We want our page to be a place where people can share how they feel about the National Trust and talk about their experiences in a fun environment. We welcome feedback – both positive and negative. These house rules aim to ensure everyone can enjoy themselves while they’re here. We ask you to be nice and polite to one another – you almost always are!- and respect each other’s views and comments. We ask all users to ensure your contributions are tasteful and suitable for all ages. We won’t tolerate disruptive, offensive or abusive behaviour, unlawful or objectionable content. This includes any material which is aggressive, argumentative or likely to be construed as bullying. No spamming or repetition, please, nor off-topic material in subject-specific threads or areas. www.twitter.com/RainhamHallNT

The Mulberrys are ripe n ready in the Community Gardens. A local visitor, Sun picked some and made a Tottenham Cake. The dark pink colored icing originally came from mulberries gathered from trees in the burial ground of the local Quaker Meeting House in Tottenham, North London. The phrase 'caught red handed' supposedly comes from mulberries when the juice stains your hands bright red.
