Galgos are among the most vulnerable dogs in Spain, often discarded once they are no longer needed by the hunting industry. But thanks to your compassion and generosity, these three were saved in time.

Two of the galgos have already begun their new lives with loving forever families. Rex is still waiting for his chance, but his future is now filled with hope instead of fear.

📰 NEWS: International outrage grows over New Zealand's feral cat culling program 🇳🇿🙀

New Zealand’s Predator Free 2050 strategy, launched to protect native biodiversity through the eradication of introduced predator species, is increasingly attracting international concern due to its reliance on lethal control methods. These include trapping, poisoning, hunting and shooting, resulting in the large-scale killing of feral cats.

Growing concern has emerged regarding the increasing involvement of local communities, including children, in organised animal killing activities linked to predator control initiatives. Particular attention has recently focused on the North Canterbury hunting competition, scheduled to take place again in June and July 2026 which has attracted international criticism due to the direct participation of children in hunting and killing competitions.

In light of these concerns, OIPA International and Network for Animals have joined efforts to raise international awareness regarding what both organisations consider to be an issue requiring broader public, institutional and diplomatic attention.

Both organisations have already formally written to the New Zealand Government and relevant authorities on two separate occasions, urging greater consideration of humane and non-lethal approaches to feral cat management.

From a humanitarian and child protection perspective, OIPA and NFA underline that exposure and the involvement of children in organised animal killing activities appears increasingly difficult to reconcile with international child protection frameworks, particularly the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCROC) and General Comment No. 26, which recognise the importance of protecting children from all forms of violence, including exposure to violence inflicted on animals.

As international attention surrounding the issue continues to grow ahead of the June and July North Canterbury hunting competition, OIPA and NFA are calling for:

• A moratorium on cat culling and a precautionary and evidence-based review of current feral cat eradication policies
• Stronger safeguards regarding child involvement in animal killing activities
• Comprehensive environmental and child rights impact assessments
• Greater investment in humane and science-based alternatives

🇮🇱 Give baby Inbar a fighting chance to survive 🫏🏥

Donkey Inbar was just five months old when she was violently ripped from her mother’s side and brutally tortured in the Rahat region of southern Israel.

A group of teenagers found the mother and foal, tore the baby donkey away from her mother and started stabbing her again and again across her small body. They then sprayed deodorant onto her leg and set it alight.

As animal lovers, it is impossible to comprehend how anyone – let alone children – could act with such cruelty toward a frightened baby donkey. Heartbreakingly, this is not an isolated incident. Abuse like this is shockingly common in parts of Israel.

Our partner, Starting Over Sanctuary (SOS), was alerted by a kind-hearted man who chased the attackers away and stayed by Inbar’s side, watching over her fragile, broken body until help came.

The little foal was rushed to our partner’s sanctuary for emergency, life-saving medical care. For hours, vets worked desperately to stop the bleeding and stabilize her shattered body. Miraculously, she survived that first night – but she is still fighting for her life.

Inbar now faces at least six months of intensive medical treatment, including daily wound care, antibiotics, pain relief and constant monitoring.

We must urgently raise $16,800 (£12,390) to give Inbar the chance to survive and heal. Her care will cost $2,800 (£2,065) per month, for a minimum of six months.

Please don’t turn away from Inbar’s suffering. Be the reason she survives and heals after everything she has been through. Be the reason she gets to grow up safe, loved and free from harm.

👉 Donate generously today to help baby donkey Inbar recover and live the life she was so nearly denied.

🇺🇬 Help rescue Uganda’s dogs from fake shelters where they are exploited for profit 🐕🐶

In the district of Mityana, Uganda dogs are being exploited for profit.

Kidnapped from the streets or stolen from owners and crammed into filthy huts, they are then deliberately starved, beaten, burned and injured to create emotional content for social media.

This suffering is filmed by scammers that post it on TikTok, Facebook and Instagram, alongside desperate pleas for funds to help feed, shelter and treat the animals. Donations pour in from around the world, but the animals rarely see a cent. Instead, it is reportedly funding the scammers’ luxury lifestyles.

We are working with local partners to rescue abused animals and bring criminals to justice.

Your support today can help fund urgent rescues, food, veterinary care, safe shelter and the legal action critically needed to shut these scammers down for good.

Here is how your donation can help right now:

• $20 (£15) provides one week of food and care for a rescued dog
• $50 (£37) supports emergency rescue operations for dogs in immediate danger
• $90 (£67) covers vaccination and sterilization for a rescued dog
• $500 (£372) helps expand shelter capacity so more abused dogs can be rescued
• $1,000 (£743) helps fund legal action to stop cruelty at its source

👉 Please donate today to help rescue dogs still trapped in Uganda’s scam shelters and give the survivors the care they desperately deserve.

GOOD NEWS 🫶 Target reached and exceeded for La Digue’s cats and dogs 🐶😸🇸🇨

Our team is back from their trip to La Digue in the Seychelles and we are happy to report that we exceeded our target of 200 sterilizations!

209 cats and dogs were sterilized in the short time our team spent on this tiny and remote island. Considering that we packed and traveled with everything we would need, this is an astonishing feat. We used all the anaesthetics we brought with.

It was a non-stop labor of love for our hardworking veterinary team. When they weren’t sterilizing and performing other life-saving surgery and treatments, they were rounding up animals for sterilizations and setting humane cat traps to Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return feral and community cats.

Despite La Digue being so remote and with limited resources, the island’s people were incredibly grateful for our sterilization campaign and helped our vet team in any way they could. They told us how stray animals were poisoned en mass in the past, and that our sterilization campaign is a huge step in the right direction to stop this cruel practise.

There are still hundreds of animals needing to be trapped and sterilized, a follow-up campaign will therefore be required.

Our campaign made a huge impact for the animals we did reach in the limited time we had — no more suffering and unwanted litters of puppies and kittens.

Your contributions made a huge difference — THANK YOU!

GOOD NEWS 🫶 Your compassion changed 39 lives at the Nairobi Feline Sanctuary 🐶🐕

It is not just cats who are loved and cared for at our partner sanctuary, the Nairobi Feline Sanctuary in Tigoni, Kenya. NFS is also home to 46 dogs rescued from abuse, neglect and homelessness.

When we learned that 39 of them still needed to be sterilized, we knew we had to act. And thanks to your generosity, we were able to step in and cover the full cost of sterilizing all 39 dogs.

This goes far beyond preventing unwanted litters.

Sterilization reduces aggression, lowers the risk of certain cancers and illnesses and gives these dogs the chance to live calmer, healthier and happier lives at the sanctuary while they wait for the loving forever homes they deserve.

For animals who have already endured so much suffering, that difference is life-changing.

None of this would have been possible without compassionate donors like you. Your kindness is changing lives, one dog at a time - THANK YOU 🙏

🇺🇬 We must end the suffering of Uganda’s dogs trapped in fake shelters 🐕🐶

This is the harsh reality for dogs in Uganda – they are being deliberately harmed for donations.

The district of Mityana has become infamous for fake dog rescue shelters that exploit animals for profit. Dogs are kidnapped from the streets or stolen from owners and crammed into filthy huts, then deliberately starved, beaten, burned and injured to create emotional content for social media.

Scammers film the suffering and post it on TikTok, Facebook and Instagram, alongside desperate pleas for funds to help feed, shelter and treat the animals. Donations pour in from around the world, but the animals rarely see a cent. Instead, it is reportedly funding the scammers’ luxury lifestyles.

An estimated 700 animals are still trapped in these scam shelters.

We are working with three trusted partners – We Won’t Be Scammed (WWBS), Animal Lifeline Uganda Shelter (ALU) and the Animal Justice Centre (JAC) – to rescue abused animals and bring criminals to justice.

Together, we can rescue abused animals and bring criminals to justice.

Your support today can help fund urgent rescues, food, veterinary care, safe shelter and the legal action critically needed to shut these scammers down for good.

🇲🇦 Morocco’s street dogs deserve protection, not slaughter 🐶🐕

In Morocco, street dogs are being hunted down and killed to “clean up” the streets for tourists ahead of the country’s co-hosting of the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

They are being shot, poisoned and beaten to death in full public view – often in front of children and horrified residents. Others are forcibly captured, thrown into trucks and taken to government-run facilities that claim to provide “humane” care.

We must act now to end this cruel, gruesome massacre of Morocco’s helpless dogs. But without urgent support, more dogs will suffer.

Help us bring an end to this horrific practice urgently.

Your emergency donation today can help us:

• Rescue wounded and at-risk street dogs
• Provide food, medical care and safe shelter for rescued street dogs
• Support legal action to challenge the killings
• Campaign for stronger animal welfare laws
• Expand humane TNVR programs
• Help expose the truth and build international pressure at the 2026 FIFA World Cup

Every donation helps rescue dogs from danger, challenge cruelty in the courts and drive lasting change for Morocco’s animals.

👉 Please donate generously today and help us stop this killing. Your support can save lives right now: https://bit.ly/4uWYbWC.
