When the world voted for the adoption of ILOC189, the UK abstained in June 16, 2011 and the following year 2012 migrant domestic workers were stripped off their right to change employer, right to renew their Overseas Domestic Worker Visa, right to settlement, and right to British Citizen - MDWs became the biggest casualty during ConDem Government's Net Migration madness immigration overhaul and hostile environment. For more than a decade, MDWs are still trapped in unpreventable abuse and exploitation. Domestic Workers in the UK are continuing to organise, they have built their Branch in the biggest trade union - Unite the Union, their power is visible in the frontline and continue to fight and demand for their rights as workers.
