Every experience of homelessness is different. It is important to remember that homelessness is a systems issue, and not a personal failure. Due to gaps in systemic support, both through formal paths to access support as well as informal networks, some individuals or families are at greater risk of experiencing homelessness. These vulnerabilities are not unique to an individual and can affect people from many different backgrounds.

We are pleased to announce the launch of our new employment support pathway funded by The National Lottery Community Fund

Homelessness rarely happens in isolation, and employment is often a big part of the picture. From today, we're offering 1:1 support, workshops and partnership referrals to help people build skills, confidence and a route into work, training or other pathways that suit them.

The service sits alongside our existing support and is open to our clients and to anyone who needs it.

This is what it looks like when a community comes together for housing justice.

Behind every piece of art and every conversation that night was the belief that no one in Southwark should lose their home because they had nowhere to turn.

A few glimpses from our evening of Art, Poetry and Purpose.

Read our Building Pathways report which sets out five years of the Rent Support Programme (RSP+) and its impact on private renters in Southwark facing eviction and housing insecurity.

Since it began, RSP+ has helped private renters understand their rights, negotiate with landlords, and stay in their homes.

The report highlights the impact of this work over five years in the southwark community.

What an evening!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at last Friday for an evening of art, poetry, food and conversation. From the exhibition to the People Library, where guests sat down with people who bring frontline practice and advocacy to the issue of homelessness, thanks to everyone who showed up for it and made the night so special. A special thanks to our artists and poets who generously donated their art work and did special poetry reading that moved the audience greatly.

Thank you also to our speakers, Graeme Coles, Stacey Edgar and Naz Biggs, for sharing their time and perspectives with us.

Your presence and support helped spark new conversations about how to sustain this work, and we are exploring ways to bring both projects back into the community. As of now, the Rent Support Programme (RSP+) and the School Housing Advice project will close indefinitely.

Thank you for standing with Kineara.

We're so pleased to share that Naz Biggs, Portfolio Manager at Impact on Urban Health, will be speaking at An Evening of Art, Poetry and Purpose on 25 September.

Impact on Urban Health supported us over the years and funded both of the projects we're raising money for: our Rent Support Programme and our School Housing Advice project. Naz has been a steady champion of Kineara over the years, and so much of this work simply wouldn't exist without that support.

Thank you, Naz and everyone at Impact on Urban Health for believing in what we do. We can't wait to hear from you.

We're delighted to announce Stacey Edgar, Executive Director of Southwark Law Centre, as a speaker at our fundraiser this Friday, 25th September.

Southwark Law Centre has been our legal partner across Southwark for many years. Their team has spent countless hours advocating for and representing clients, from fighting illegal evictions to taking on other legal challenges. Without them, we couldn't have supported our clients the way we have.

Stacey will share a bit about our partnership over the years and the work we've done together in the community.

Join us at Christchurch, Blackfriars Road, for An Evening of Art, Poetry and Purpose, a night of art, poetry, music and conversation in support of Kineara's frontline services: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/an-evening-of-art-poetry-and-purpose-tickets-1994136332451?aff=oddtdtcreator&keep_tld=true
